If I'm correct this is the first weekly drop since January 2. Not a bad run.
So far it feels like some much needed consolidation. To be honest, I'm a tad surprised we got as high as we did without some. Of course, I would have liked to gain a bit more first and I never lighten as much or as soon as I should.
We'll see where AAPL goes from here.

Judging From the energy on the Board, I think we all need a rest...
Speculation on the March 9 event is massive. Reminds me of the iPad event, which was also in the Spring. In April of that year I saw my first iPad in the wild....a poor guy at a San Francisco bar was trying to read off his wifi version iPad a day or two after the first ones became available. The rubberneneckers made his job difficult. He finally gave up and handed it around. People kept hefting it to check the weight, rotating it to see the screen change....I recall specifically some people saying " it may be interesting but I have no use for it; I have a netbook" . But the fascination was there, love it or not.
We finally bought the guy a drink and I bought more Apple stock.

Very nice story. I had pre-ordered and were hosting family during Easter weekend, when the Saturday delivery showed up. Any time I purchase a surprise piece of tech for myself, I have learned to purchase one also for the Admiral. Well, I was a local hero for the rest of the weekend. The next month we hosted our annual Kentucky Derby party. Normally someone gets assigned to take $1 bets into a pool, with clipboard in hand. Well this time the bet-taker did everything on one of the iPads. Seems so long ago.
We have both loved our Nike+Fuelbands. I have also used a sleep monitor with vibrate-to-wake action, and of course several watches over the years. My fuel band button died somewhere in the South Pacific a couple years ago, and I miss the activity tracking. So I switched back to my iPod Nano v4 in a MNML lunatik strap/band. I have been *this close* to pulling the trigger for a Pebble Watch. I agree, the wrist landscape reminds me of the MP3 landscape at the time of iPod release, the handphone landscape at the time of the iPhone release, or the netbook/tablet landscape at the time of the iPad release.
My credit card can't wait.

What a terrific month. Wishing everyone well! Hit up local hotel bar and had too much 18 year scotch. Trying to recover. LOL

As if right on cue, the NYT serves up a little FUD. Brian Chen's piece is actually encouraging....he's a great contrarian indicator.
I'm bullish on the Watch and has a very good chance to be big bigger than most think. Take a few minutes to review Apple's website for product features and photos -- I'll get one on the first day.

Chen, what a maroon. There was no demand for smartphones before the iPhone or tablets before the iPad. Apple is (the good kind of) a market maker.
Good claim chowder for Gruber a year from now.

I was looking at the Apple web page and was looking at the Apple Watch Edition and noticed the digital crowns center part is color matched with the band.......nice little touch the others don't have. I wonder if their might be some other differences with the edition model TC has not mentioned yet.

I wonder if their might be some other differences with the edition model TC has not mentioned yet. I asked about this Wednesday: Anybody see an answer to the question of colored crowns on the Apple Watch? Some promo pics show a white, black, or red crown. Will the color be fixed with BTO, or swappable, or Haven't seen anything, wondering if I missed something. Might be a feature that gets removed before release. Still no word from Apple. I can't see how the crown color could be switched by the user (easily). Time will tell, but it will probably be fixed when shipped. Then if you take off the (say) red band for a gold, you'll be stuck with the red crown. Thoughts?

The more I read about Apple Watch, the more enthusiastic I get. Did you know...
1. You can listen to music from the Watch without the iPhone? 2. You can control Apple TV with it? 3. It can function as a remote viewfinder for the iPhone's camera? 4. Stock price notification, including LOD, HOD and "Price is Truth" amount. 5. "Hey Siri" Text Tim Cook to buy back another $100B worth of stock (or, "Hey Siri" Text Brian Chen he's a nincompoop) 6. Apple Pay is on board at launch -- no more fishing out my iPhone to slake my thirst at Starbucks.

This isn't going to save Samsung. The Edge model is over-the-top gimmicky. I don't know who's more pathetic, Samsung or the people who buy this knockoff shit.

iPhone 6/4 cues and yet still looks similar to S5 in front... Well best of luck Samsung.

Oh dear... mashable.com/2015/03/01/samsung-pay/Of course with MWC running this week expect all sorts of iPhone killer announcements this week. And then of course none of them go on to do anything.

Oh dear? Eh. Give it your best shot Samsung!
Loop Pay is trick tech in a HIGHLY UNCOMFORTABLE UX/EMV liability shift spot until such time it proves otherwise.

Samsung has over promised and under delivered so often, one has to be very skeptical its new phones will change anything. Samsung Pay won't even be available until summer. If Android users cared about security, they wouldn't even be using the platform.
I don't see this worth anything more than a shrug, except to the diehard Fandroids.

The key question for Samsung here is whether anybody who left Android for an iPhone 6 or 6+ would now consider moving back? If not, then they are further behind the eight ball....iphone 6s and iOS 9 get the next move in the chess game....

IMHO: The Samesong pay is based on the "magnetic" stripe on CURRENT cards (MST). Those cards will be replaced by chip cards this summer. Those cards will use a new retailer device that is compatible with PAY. The Samesong pay will be available THIS summer. It just seems to me they are too late for the game.

Let's hope this Samsung Pay thing gives Apple a little kick in the pants to speed up the Apple Pay rollout to other countries.

So the Galazy S6 is made of 100% metal and glass. What an amazing, visionary innovation.

A bit off-topic, but this place is as lively as a graveyard anyway. Anyone else think Season 3 of House of Cards was a huge letdown?
