So it's no wonder that Android phones tout their full multi-tasking capabilities; they need them: to fight viruses, worms, trojans, key loggers, adware and now wipe sites. But, then, it may not matter much since only a small percentage of Android users actually get to the mobile web anyway.

Which would be crazy! Most smartphones in the US are bundled with data. All that bandwidth and iPhone users are doing most of the surfing?

My oldest brother has had an Android 2.3.1.6 for over a year now. We will look into switching to iPhone. Since he is a truck driver, perhaps the new flyover Maps would be useful.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Maps application GPS directions feature. I gave it two tests in Southwestern France this week. The first trip was from my house to my wife's cousin's house, about 40 minutes away with only small (as in one-lane, two-way) country roads from here to there. The directions were spot on. I know the way and was very happy to learn that my phone could choose the route. Only one time, when I knew the road was really TOO narrow for my car to comfortably pass, did I deviate from the directions. I chose a parallel road that was slightly longer, but wider The second test was going in to Bordeaux to drop some friends off at the rail station. The iphone safely navigated all the one-ways and small streets into the city to the train station. Personally, I think it is an excellent start for such a complex software product!

First time with Maps. Intriguing. Needs crowdsourcing. Also, the UI needs work.
