I hope I'm wrong, but I think this signals a lesser role by Jony and will be perceived that way in AAPL tomorrow. I don't see any lasting damage, but the "promotion" looks like a smoke screen. Just read the story .... not exactly sure what to make of it but it does seem clear that the he will still remain in the loop regarding the day to day activities. It's important that the face of Apple have many players, after dealing with the passing of Jobs people should realize that it's not about one individual no matter how talented. Hopefully this does not get blown out of proportion tomorrow .... then again it's Apple ... EVERYTHING gets blown out of proportion. Congrats to the longs. On another note ... thanks to all on the board who have served in our armed forces.

Is our moderator gone for good? Do we need a new one?

Let the media hounds sniff around a bit -- Jony Ive is overworked and now wants more? Forget it. This smells like he's going to spend more time in a place where he's Sir Jony Ive. He'll still be involved with Apple but probably at a more relaxed pace with oversight responsibilities and less day-to-day.
Good for Jony and family. Apple? Like Steve Jobs before him, Jony has very capable people working for him.
This story may be a slow burn. So far, AAPL is doing fine in PM.
