Well, on April 27, AAPL closed at $132.31, followed closely by the best fiscal 2Q results in the company history. Now down a bit over 2 bucks since then. "Make me wanna holler!" as the very great Marvin Gaye once sang. Can WWDC be a catalyst, despite "Sell in May and go away."? I sure hope so. After all, Martha Reeves told us "Summer's here and the time is right for dancin' in the street!" Rockin' my blues away...the bar is featuring Classic Soul tonight...what'll ya have?

I think that iWatch is ramping very fast, I ordered the space grey sport with black band two weeks ago, and was quoted end of June delivery. This morning i received an email from Apple stating it should ship in 2-3 weeks.
I just got charged on my Amex twenty minutes ago, two separate payments, one for the watch and one for the Applecare. I reckon I will have shipping confirm in the next 24-48 hours! Nice to have the alert come up from Apple Pay...
Yee Haw!

I would be furious if that's the case because I ordered this same thing the first weekend and am still being told "sometime in June" so how the heck is that possible?! You just revved my engine this morning...aaarrrggghhhh!

The noted clown, Colin Gillis, was on CNBC and had a number of scary things to say about Apple stock. Turn's out, Apple stock is in imminent danger of losing his "Hold" rating. Expect many Apple Longs to begin panic selling on Monday since Gillis' "Hold" rating is the only thing that kept many of us in the stock for this long. I'll toss Apple if it doesn't let go of it's iPhone crutch: AnalystWith competitors like Google's new payment system and Xiaomi's Mi Band hitting the market in the near future, BGC senior analyst Colin Gillis says that Apple's dominance—and even his rating on the stock—could be in jeopardy. Recently, Gillis wrote that the tech titan's reliance on the iPhone could be "a liability as technology trends remain fickle." In an interview on CNBC's "Fast Money" this week, Gillis explained that he's concerned about two trends he considers alarming: a lengthening upgrade cycle and a slowing smartphone market. Gillis hinted that he may reconsider his hold rating on the stock if he's not wowed by Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference, which is set for June 8–12 in San Francisco.

It is an absolute FARCE that morons like Colin Gillis has any voice to comment on AAPL. He's largely ignored, but still, his mug on CNBC is the most wretched thing on the boob tube.

Have you tried calling Apple, Phoebear? A friend is leaving for the UK in a week so he did an online chat with Apple Support and it appears that they said it would be with him on Monday / Tuesday. Certainly worth an online chat to move things along.

Really enjoying the back and forth again, after a week out of touch while moving our household goods into storage. Closing was yesterday, and we are officially living in a motor coach (the "Timberwind", passing through a town near you, soon). Checked on ship times for Apple Watch black stainless (5-6 weeks) and Sport (2-3 weeks). Unhappy but unsurprised by the first check, pleasantly surprised by the second. Things will settle out by the end of the summer and then it'll be time for iOS update, Apple Watch stand-alone applications, and the holiday crush. Really excited to get the Apple TV v4.0, A.K.A. the Apple Home Hub. I'll retrofit Timberwind with all HomeKit-compatible gear.

Not wanting to upset the board with Car Talk but I've been watching this video and thinking about Apple getting into the car business. Maybe they can sub out the actual manufacturing but the sheer amount of design work in detailing the quantity of parts involved seems way beyond the scope of their rather small team. (forgetting the expertise involved) Just a thought. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCvplJCXn6sMy new ride is due to arrive 2nd week of July. For all I know you may be seeing some of it being built in the video. I'm feeling a bit of Phoebe;s pain.

But remove the thousands of parts associated with an internal combustion engine and transmission by going electric with a battery or fuel cell might lessen the load somewhat. Still a daunting task to say the least.

I don't think anyone knows the answer to that question .. and Tesla is already shipping plenty of vehicles, so I don't think we have enough information to determine if Apple could or couldn't do it.

As it turns out, BMW makes cars like Apple makes iPhones (save for final assembly, which Apple also contracts out). I think Apple's going to do it and faster than many are expecting. Someone pass word to Colin Gillis (speak slowly and use small words) that Apple is working on something new.

When thinking of Colin Gilles or listening to him speak it immediately prompts an old tune in my head from my youth and I am ALWAYS reminded of Judy Collins' Send in the Clowns "...But where are the clowns, send in the clowns ... Don't bother, they're here..."

Timely conversation for me Luckychoices thanks for contributing to the forum. I'm 56 years old and I am thinking of retiring later this year. I started investing in Apple back in 2007. Last week I talked with a financial planner who is advising me to roll my current IRA which is 80% in Apple stock into an index annuity. Sorry, infohunter, for the slow reply. I've not encountered any financial folks at all, even my financial guy at Charles Schwab (who I like), who doesn't try to "encourage" me to divert some of our Apple stock investment into some other financial activity. You know, diversify. When AAPL dropped from $199 on 12/28/07 down to $83.11 on 03/09/09 the value of our AAPL investment was, obviously, pretty hard hit. But I told our CS guy at the time that, even though I appreciated him trying to help me, I remained convinced that the best way back to where we were was to remain invested in AAPL. I told him that I doubted anything he could suggest would help get us there faster. I'll never know for sure if I was correct, but I'm glad we stay fully invested in AAPL because the trip back to $200 and beyond was plenty fast enough to suit me. Retiring at your age sounds great but you didn't mention whether or not you'd be getting a retirement pension. If you could successfully balance your retirement income (whatever it might be) with your debts (mortgage, etc) I'd sure give serious thought to holding onto as much of your Apple stock as possible. At least that would be my non-advice.

OK it's just over a week before WWDC and a mere 2 and a half weeks since I got my Watch.
BUT I hope iOS 9 brings "complications" to the iPhone and iPad lock screen so we may customize it with some information we would like to keep track of.
Just thinking aloud. I'm not insisting but it would be really nice.

In a way, they almost have to do a car or enough of one so they can control their future there. Like Google will have with Android, Apple needs an operating system that runs your phone, watch/wearables, computer/tablet, TV, house/appliances/internet of things, and then naturally your vehicle.
Plus your payments, virtual reality (note their acquisition), health/body sensors, and probably another dozen areas they are thinking ahead of the rest of us on.
To paraphrase Janis Joplin, "It's all the same f**k'n operating system, man."

TC must be reading our thread. I think he got nervous when I threatened to sell my AAPL position if I didn't get the last of my 5 watches that I was waiting for and that most of you have gotten notices on this weekend (42mm space grey sport blk band for my son). About 5 minutes ago I received a text that I will receive it on June 2nd! So there ya go - either TC is reading the thread or word got out I was going to dump my MASSIVE position in a complete tantrum :-)
All kidding aside - so glad it's finally arriving. Meanwhile I was stopped THREE TIMES TODAY while running errands by folks asking me if I was wearing "the Apple Watch" and what I thought about it. I DEFINITELY made sales! One observation: they ALL commented that it didn't seem it could be bought yet and I assured them that Apple was revving up production and they should at the very least be getting them out to customers in a much more timely fashion and who knows - possibly have some in the store as well. Don't you love how I was out there writing checks with my mouth and hoping Apple can cash them when they they hit the account! I was trying to create a buzz! My husband took three steps back and was laughing (Quite frankly, I think he didn't want people to know we were together.)
