Well, this is interesting. Bloomberg reporting on Verizon earnings...right now? That's because Verizon already has Q3 2012 info online, in advance of the conference call: www22.verizon.com/investor/webcast_3q_2012_quarter_earnings_conference_call_webcast_10182012.htmFor example: 6.8M smartphone activations 4.5M "4G LTE device sales" - hmm, I wonder why they didn't say "smartphones"... For reference, Verizon's most recent quarter ended September 30. Apple's fiscal Q4 ended September 29. No iPhone data I can find, yet...

This is mildly interesting tech.fortune.cnn.com/2012/10/17/apples-funky-new-venue/Apples media event next week is actually in a bigger auditorium than the one used for the iPhone intro. I thought (incorrectly) it was being done at the small apple town hall location on their campus - next weeks event looks like its going to be a biggie - we will likely see a lot more introduced alongside the ipad mini.

I'm still trying to get myself off the floor after fainting when I read that JD may buy weeklies if AAPL tanks on Verizon earnings.

I'm going to say it: If Apple tanks today, I am going to buy some weeklies. I don't watch the news... Did Hell freeze overnight???

Nokia reporting plummeting sales. market is loving it - up over 4%... maybe AAPL should try that strategy.

How do the Verizon activation numbers compare to previous quarters, is my question. No time to research right now. Premarket looks grim.

Apple is rumoured to be buying Color, the biggest joke in the startup scene in years. Stand back and watch the ridicule and FUD. From an optics perspective, this will be a mess if true.

Bad new jobless insurance claims. Seems the downtrend will continue for a bit more. Darn.

This is from Mav from yesterdays thread:Fiscal Q4 2011 compare was 2M activations, for reference. Full data for Verizon: (Fiscal quarter) Q2 11 - 2.2M Q3 11 - 2.3M Q4 11 - 2M Q1 12 - 4.3M Q2 12 - 3.2M Q3 12 - 2.7M

Verizon call: I think I just heard 3.1M iPhones, 21% (650K) of which were iPhones 5s. That was out of 6.8M smartphones. Android was 3.2M, so I guess 0.5M other.

Whoever has information from the Verizon call and how it compares - kindly post so I can understand if this insanity is warranted and may actually follow JD on buying weeklies

Retesting this pivotal 637-638 level. Bulls want to reclaim this territory as support.

JD: according to DBWCCT (Dumb Bunny Weekly Call Ceiling Theory), you should be selling puts or bull put spreads, NOT buying calls.

Anyone else see this a pretty damn good? 3.1m iPhones and ONLY 650K were iphone 5's? Obvious supply constraints of the 5 and still a very strong overall iPhone number. I'm looking forward no next quarter ;D

Its only 200k in vol Ls... Folks reacting to VZ before digesting what it all really means.. Im not concerned................ yet Well, I can support the notion that PM may not be that meaningful. I fall off the wagon though when PM down $5 is "so far so good". That makes zero sense to me. But overall I agree that PM can be misleading no matter what.

If you had read the quoted material, you would have realized that the statement "so far so good" was about support holding in the 637-638 level, not the drop to that level.
