iPad, surprise events like this may take a little time to shake out. But I've got my buying cap ready to go...once things settle down some.
Let's revisit the trendline in maybe a month. Events have taken over.

Some of us still have high blood pressure and more will have so as they watch CNBC.
Mine is stable.

Cramer LAST WEEK did a show on GOOG being his top pick and AMZN being his second pick into year end based on momentum and he told everyone BUY BUY BUY! IMO, Jim Cramer is a fraud. He's a talking puppet for the pro's. I quit listening to him years ago and my portfolio is way better off for it. No one on this board would disagree with your statements - we all know it. The sad thing is that people out there listen to him and he can move stocks. That is a fact. So we always need to be aware of what he is saying but for no other reason than to understand a particular price action on any given day - BUT THAT IS IT. Can you imagine all those retail people who bought GOOG based on it being his number one pick!?

See also Redler - I like Redler, but events like this can invalidate technicals. Still befuddled why AAPL wasn't his high-beta pick last year. YES! Thus the "objective, not predictive." Anything can change any moment. Exactly. That's why I hate trading events and earnings as I end up feeling as if I've had my eyes poked out.

I bought some December 650/700 BCS a bit ago.
December looks like a sweet spot to me.
A gift arrived this morning...
All the GOOG details are net positives for Apple.

According to Jon Forrt (CNBC Tech correspondent) Google had been calling analysts for the past couple of days and warning them that "lighter than expected" numbers were going to be reported. How can this be legal? Ah, hello SEC, are you listening? If it is legal, how do I get on the calling list?

GOOG @ -7% or so adjusted EPS growth? Hmm...might try a short play depending on where GOOG resumes trading at.

Just woke up. Was a bit disappointed to see apple down $10. Now have a bit of a grin on my face after reading/seeing he google situation That dog has fleas. Despite its troubles with iOS maps, the brutal fact is that apple has ensured that google has lost hundreds of millions of premium google maps customers.

Conspiracy Theory:
Google intentionally released early "accidentally" so that the circus around the "early release" issue would divert attention from the fact that the real issue here is that Google's business is not good.

Well regarding GOOG, looks like all those no profit garage projects are taking a little toll. Bloody dreamy speculation on my part but I hope I money managers thinking about a visit from Christmas Future and contemplating : How the heck am I going to make up for this loss by the end of the year? What is the least risk for the most profit? What can I buy that will make me sleep better this holiday season?

He has always seemed well thought out. If it had been passed around, why was it still going up? Oh yeah, so the big boys could dump into strength and leave the carcass for retail to fight over. I still do not get why AAPL has been hammered so hard. I am sure some of the ETF's had wholesale sellings, but this is crazy.

No and no ! I won't go long on any company that refuses to give guidance. Not only that, GOOG PE is at 20. Sorry, over my limit. Coupled with rising competition from iOS, Bing and other specialty search engines, the value of GOOG is its employees and hardware assets, not so much its search. Therefore, I hesitate to estimate GOOG's true value, but no higher than 580 for now.

Except this is all self-inflicted injury.
Buying Moto? Making an OS with no profit in it for GOOG? Neither of which really helps Google's core search business?

The current real Google doodle is enlightening. Google is now in a rowboat with a hidden link to Herman Meville's books, mainly "Moby Dick." Somebody's going to regret the irony.

Interesting, IBM making a comeback.
GOOG still halted. I am assuming this will be for the rest of the day so they can have their CC and try to explain why this is not as bad as it appears. If Moto is removed it is not as bad, but Moto is their mutt. Sad to because it was once a great company.

Hang in there everybody.
Embrace the WTF sales, and do what ya gotta do.
At the moment, my best guess is GOOG is being used as an excuse to sell off AAPL, though that makes no sense. I'm waiting to see if AAPL holds 630.

I am not so sure. I have spoken to Nick on a number of occasions. He is well know among option traders who frequent most large forums. He is closely connected with AZ, stocktweets, AppleSanity board, and a few others. He is getting well over 200K visitors in one week and there is more I can share but to keep it private. Hedge funds have been frequent visitors of his website. If 2000 people get moved to get into an option for a month and each buys 20 contracts you can easily make a few million from all of them by simply making sure aapl closes at 649 instead of 651. And you can repeat that process every day. WS is using the options market to steal millions from those who have a reasonable expectation that aapl will move up. I have been following Nick's blog on a daily basis since he started it this spring. He has a huge amount of experience to share. He was doing it in a sort of naive way at first; he got burned, and he also became very popular. Then he got cautious. All fine. I guess the point I was reinforcing here is that giving back is an important part of life. We have all had mentors along the way and been mentors as well. Remembering how you got to where you are now is simple fact never to be ignored.
