Good Morning ~ thought I would start the thread. Not seeing much in the way of news at all other than more articles on Samsung paying their $548M as part of the patent case and why. Just a lot of recycled stuff. So feel free to post if anyone sees an interesting article. In the meantime, I think the new Apple 6S ads are excellent. The latest ones with Penelope Cruz and Jon Favreau to mention just a few of several they have out there are really catchy. I find myself stopping whatever I'm doing and staring at the boob-tube each time they're on. They really are good...wonder if they'll have a holiday one to pull at your heart strings as they have done in previous years. They're pretty good at that! Hope so - can't wait!

I guess I was still looking for that old nostalgic thing like they have done so many times but yes - that one is terrific too!

I loved the one from last year or the year before with the seemingly sullen teenage boy who created the family movie. It was one of my favorite all-time ads.

I often have that effect on women. Just as I get into the explanation, they fall asleep or pass out. I will never understand women. My wife, for example, starts every discussion with, "You are not listening to me"

Ugh...brings back memories. I was next to a guy on a dais...he was standing at the rostrum, his knees started to waiver and....boom...down he goes, hitting his chin on the wooden edge as we falls and splitting it wide open. Blood everywhere. Some people thought he was shot it was so sudden and such a mess. Anyway, no long term damage.. But I was the next apeaker, so tough act to follow. Apple showing signs of life..can we get over the 200 day and well over 120 on Monday? aaplpain.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Screen-Shot-2015-12-05-at-1.21.36-PM-e1449351214310.png

Hell Artman I did the same thing as soon as he said "I'm sorry," my eyes glazed over and my iPad hit me in the face. The good thing is I missed the next 116 seconds of the video. I understand it was "heart warming."

Everyone that I know is getting the 6S.
Also I discovered that I love Apple Music on the Apple TV. Much easier to navigate then the iPhone. The future looks bright for the Apple TV. I still see a stand alone device in the future. It is still a pain to turn on TV and change settings in order to get to Apple TV.
Let's see how much more we move up tomorrow. The chartist gurus are saying we could see 132 soon given the big move on Friday. We have been waiting for such a move for the last two months.

I don't think I have ever seen the board so quiet. Is everyone at the Apple store buying Christmas presents? Maybe this is some kind of a capitulation signal, like we have all just given up on trying to find anything rational in the stocks behavior. And what happened to JD? For that matter what happened to Ipad? This is especially troublesome after such a strong move up Friday. We have been jerked around so much that no one even reacts except for some lame ass political discussion. When the hardcore Apple junkies like us are lobotomized, it has to mean something significant. Maybe this is the signal for the institutions to start sneaking in the back door and accumulating before the blowout January earnings.

I always felt that a strong move in smartphone share by Apple will bring the institutions back. Well after moving up in share in February we have dropped down since then. The stock followed suit and ownership dropped.
So until we start to see market share gains, the big boys won't be buying.
The good news is that we can still move up 30% just with retail and Apple buying back.

I went to the annual holiday party at the neighbors' last night and chatted with a cool guy I see there every year. This is in Berkeley, so many of the guests are in technology. This guy was a higher-up at Beats, had been there for a couple years before the Apple buy-out. I didn't press him for too much info 'cause I didn't want to be that guy, but he did tell me a few little things about working at Apple.
Most of the ranking team members at Beats have left since the buy-out. It was partially an aqui-hire in his mind, but many have simply moved on. He is now the head of a four-person programming team, and they enjoy the challenges that they're given. He lives in Oakland and it takes him about two hours to get to Cupertino, but it's on the Apple bus, so it's not that bad since they have wifi and can be productive on the road. Then he can take a return bus at various times in the pm. There's a lot of flexibility at Apple. He gets good vibes from everyone there. He said he's proud of the work they're doing and proud of the company's role in the tech world, one where privacy is a key element. Said he thinks that will negatively affect Google one of these days. He respects Tim and the whole team. He said he's worked at numerous tech companies, e.g. Yahoo, eBay, start-ups, etc. and Apple is by far the best in terms of worker treatment and respect. In short he had nothing bad to say about the company and plans to work there for many years to come. . . . And, yes, I mentioned how buggy Apple Music is; he smiled and said they're working on it.
Sorry, there's not too much juicy meat here, but I was just glad to hear all the positive things he had to say.

As bud777 posted previously, Ted, with such a quiet board, I think we're all starved for any positive comments. You may not consider this juicy, but most of us will consider it a welcome treat! Thanks for posting it.

Is the board quiet because many of our past key posters have moved on to their personal Twitter feeds?
just offering a theory...
By the way for old time members - it appears that Unique has updated website and is tweeting again - although not discussing much related - Twitter handle is @aapltechnicals

I have been on this board for many years and love it. I do not post much, as I am not a day trader and feel most of you know so much more.
I too miss someone the action from the venerable posters.
