If the GOP want their candidate elected then they should stop acting like the lunatic fringe and start focusing on representing average, hardworking folk. The Left will always seek to portray the Right as only for the rich, elite parasites as class warfare is their primary weapon.
The best thing the GOP can do is stop pandering to the religious zealots of all types, who want to tell others how to live their lives, and turn the class warfare on its head by becoming the party of those who work and who want to work. Their primary goal must be to put the conditions in place to allow the creation of real jobs in which people can take pride and that pay a good wage.
Honestly, I get sick and tired of the old guys. I would like to see a candidate that is significantly younger. A Marco Rubio/Bobby Jindal ticket would thrill me to no end. Romney, like McCain was just someone for people to vote for that did not care for Obama. I was a huge Ronald Reagan fan, but I feel the days are gone that it is viable to elect someone that old. The right has not put up a candidate to vote for. A hold your nose while voting candidate sucks.
Age doesn't matter as much as policy. It's hard out there for a moderate republican these days between the Tea Party, Grover Norquist, and Rush Limbaugh. Good luck getting an electable majority through that primary gauntlet. It's going to be real interesting to see how they deal with losing. My guess is the powers that be will moderate the outside influences.

Like it or not, they'll need to make concessions on gender and social issues. The strategy W used in this regard was clearly the more effective strategy. Fiscal policy differences is not the real issue here.
This is the #1 thing that pisses me off. The economy and getting this country back on track is 50 million times more important that the crap social/gender issues. I don't understand why people feel government has to rule that for everyone. So old fashioned.
If Romney was in, would Apple be tanking like this? Isn't it all selling due to div tax fears?
Thanks Obama for wiping out my account due to margin calls now. Maybe I'll become a freeloader soon to make you proud.
Politics aside - there is only one person to blame for a margin call. Yourself. Take that to heart and you'll be a better trader/investor for it.
mercel: It's been a long strange trip - good to see you're still around (and in AAPL -my assumption).
