I second that. AAPL is starting to make me an insomniac.

Unfortunately for us net longs, futures are "moderately" red (I consider that to be around -0.5% on average).
SPX 200-day (which is 1381-ish) is an important level, and the SPX is currently at 1380, although the uptrend from June is actually still OK Fibs-wise. I might experiment with a SPY hedge depending on market open action.

I am fully invested. Last two trades were at the 200day MA and the 50week MA. Now waiting. However, I am really thinking about taking out a long-term loan and invest the money in AAPL shares.

For those of you following the MSFT Windows 8 and surface launch. Steve B says sales are "modest" (hardly a term one can link to an answer that requires a numerical symbol). Best guess is MSFT at most would sell 3.5M tablets this qtr but a few have dropped their estimates after some tersely checks since launch to 1.5m. I will go out on a limb here and say there may not be any competition to fear from the juggernaut of the PC universe. Oh and BTW the head of the software unit was just asked to leave. Also read the following and perhaps like myself you can only imagine the fallout if Apple had this with an IOS/OS launch:
"An even smaller number of users, once they had actually received the tablet, complained that the Touch Cover started to split and come away from the material that binds the touch-technology together.
But just over a fortnight after the Surface went on sale and Windows 8 was launched, primed and ready to be used on desktop and laptops all over the world, Microsoft issued its latest Patch Tuesday advisory notice, warning that Windows 8 had three "critical" security vulnerabilities while the Surface RT device had one critical security flaw."

Yesterday Gary Kaminsky compared an AAPL chart to RCA...to show what happens when a stock is over-owned and then people bail. Today - given the news on AAPL's success with sales per sq. foot - yet again - and by a huge margin - perhaps Mr. Kaminsky will show a chart of "Z" -- for you youngsters - that was the symbol for Woolworth's - a five and dime store of yester-year. It will be spun negatively someway, somehow.

Has anyone else experienced issues trying to access some websites? Even some big ones seemed to be having issues. Makes me wonder whether there is a denial of service attack going on.

This is something apple has taught me the last 2 months: "Average people believe the markets are driven by logic and strategy. Rich people know they're driven by emotion and greed."

Could very well be hitting new low on this downtrend today. Once again AAPL looks extremely weak.

Good grief, the NAS futures are down 19 before the bell, WTF. AAPL going to have a hard time dealing with that.

WHEN WILL THE MADNESS STOP?
NOW we have a FBI agent emailing shirtless photos of himself to a woman in Florida.
20,000-30,000 pages of email over two years sent by a General to a woman in Florida?
I am taking a STAND!
I promise not to post shirtless photos of myself online. (at least until I lose another 20 pounds)

BTW this is only the beginning of this story and has the key ingredients to run for days as each day more details emerge (Jill Kelley and her activities are probably going to be the story). The FBI were not going to investigate as they don't believe any threat had been made to Kelley but the determination and frustration of the shirtless FBI agent in Tampa led him to report it to Harry Reid's office. Anyway sorry I digress from the Intraday. It cracks me up and is another clear example of fact being better than fiction. You couldn't make this up!

From this article: "a recent slowdown in same-store sales." That does not bode well ...

Good grief, the NAS futures are down 19 before the bell, WTF. AAPL going to have a hard time dealing with that. Yup going to be an ugly day. IMHO Wall St is going to send a big shot across the bow to tell the lawmakers to get their fingers out and do something - like this week... POTUS meeting with CEOs today to supposedly listen and get advice ;-) Probably going to have the same effect as telling a kid the positive attributes of Broccoli. OR me listening to a Surface pitch at the MS store.

eight straight downs looks to becoming almost a guarantee. May as well make it double digits 10 straight downs I think that would suffice for an all time biggest revenue quarter and most likely earnings quarter in history.

bit of an annoying open.
Two personal Apple stories from yesterday to brighten the mood: I used Passbook for the first time yesterday. Bought a movie ticket for Argo off the Fandango App. Clicked Add to Passbook. When I got to the movie theater I look down at my lock screen and there was the notification about the ticket.
I was like holy cow 2 for 2 (this actually works) I hand my phone to the guy with the laser gun and the gun doesn't recognize the ticket so I need to get a paper ticket. Well 2 for 3 isn't too bad so I was pleased anyway that the buying, adding and notification part worked flawlessly.
Was in the Grand Central Apple Store as well and this woman wanted an iPad 2 but in 32GB (ipad 4 was too expensive for her) and she was upset that they only had the 16GB available. (She didn't care about screen, or cores or processor or anything of that stuff) This was her first Apple purchase of any kind. All she has is a desktop (I was obviously eavesdropping "market research") Once she saw the iPad Mini she was like oh what is this. She was instantly hooked on it. She bought it on the spot (well at least tried too b/c it was sold out..haha) I actually got excited for her b/c she was so excited by the device. Puts it more into perspective how normal people view these products.
btw Argo is an awesome movie. Ok Back on topic to AAPL.

? Thought that this is the beginning of a run, leaving the lows behind for a while. Might simply be a return to VWAP so it can be sold into.
