Dividends to be paid today, right? Between all the mutual funds reinvesting dividends in AAPL and individuals having the dividends dripped back into AAPL, might that put a little buying pressure on the stock?

Given the volume and move in AH last night and then this morning in PM, decided to jump back in PM.
Giving some back so far but volume is impressive. Don't see us dropping to 132 any time soon.

If you wanted to manipulate AAPL up and down to maximum benefit, wouldn't you make it run up into the dividend payable date only to have shareholders reinvest at a high before taking the stock down again?

Guys. I have a deep respect for Apple and for this forum. I've been on here since old Gregg Thurman days. Apple is right now more overbought than at anytime in its history. 11 straight days over an rsi 85 and today we hit a 90. It's also up 7 weeks and is way over it's 200 mda. We have been in this movie before. If you are in it for a long time - don't rock the boat. If you are buying or holding options that are based on Apple going up much further than here near term - consider buying some protection.

The last three weeks have shown that with an RSI above 85 we can still move 6 points. My target is 140. That can be achieved with an RSI of 80 in the next 2-4 weeks.

Looks like a classic top if we close around here today.

Also the few times we reached ATH, we were 30% above the 200 MDA.

Sell the news? People already knew that BRK had bought huge into AAPL?

Sell the news? People already knew that BRK had bought huge into AAPL? Institutional ownership has been rising in the last 3 months. It should be noted it took a small dip from last week. This move up has everything to do with fundamentals. The next drop will be caused by the market turmoil.

Someone mentioned the possibility of a 2-1 split. I think that is worth considering. When Apple did the 7-1 split, I believe that the after split price was initially around 60. Of course the split moved the stock, so by the time it actually happened, we were up around 90. Despite the drop in brokerage rates, many people still like to buy in 100 share blocks and there are a lot more people with 6500 to spare that there are with 13000 to spare. I don't think a split in April is out of the question.

I can see a split after we reach 200 and correct.
So we may still be 2 years away.

I've been steadily selling my positions during the climb. At this point, the stock is way overbought and due for a correction / sideways move. I've been watching the RSI as a simple shorthand for where to buy and sell, both on the daily and the weekly chart... A RSI of 30 is a Back Up The Truck Strong Buy, RSI of 70 is a Start To Think About Selling. When it's on the daily chart, it's a weak signal, when it's weekly chart RSI, I consider it a strong signal. Of course, it depends on how active your trading is and what your investing timeframe is. If you're holding for 10 years none of this matters. But on an intermediate timeframe, you can see that this has been an effective strategy over the last few years: stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=AAPLRight now, AAPL is at 78 weekly RSI and 90 on daily... it's possible we keep climbing higher from here, but a cooling off period would be way healthier for the long-term upward movement of the stock. And the risk/reward here says cash is a better bet to me... Too risky a bet to try to capture an extra few dollars of movement...

I too have been scaling my options on the way up on this run. I have about 1/3 of my position left that I added after earnings. Wish I was quick enough to capture the +1.3 this morning, but I'll probably trim a little more here and let the rest ride.

As someone mentioned yesterday, investors are just not ready to sell so the bidders are having to raise their price. It's impressive that the stock has repeatedly bounced back above 135 every single time it fell below. 135 is the Warren Buffett floor. IMO, with dividends kicking in tomorrow, it should hold strong and close around 136 if not 134.99

Wish I was quick enough to capture the +1.3 this morning, but I'll probably trim a little more here and let the rest ride. In my experience, knowing when to sell is even harder than knowing when to buy, and it's only obvious with the benefit of hindsight. This is especially true of AAPL, where it has historically given us many appetizing entry points when the market has undervalued it by an extreme amount; and yet has sometimes sold off furiously with no warning only at the very beginning of its being valued at a somewhat decent multiple...
