Just had a visit from my future self, we had a good laugh about how many people gave up on AAPL over the last week.

Indeed, wow! "Avast's poll of U.S. Windows users found 16% planned to purchase a new computer. While 58% indicated they would get one of the new Windows 8 models, 30% planned to buy an Apple iPad touch tablet, and 12%, an Apple Macintosh computer."

Yes, and after someone posted about the new iMac rumors, rosie posted this: " I just talked to apple customer service about a missing return. After getting that sorted out I asked about the iMac delay rumors. I was told that the staff had just finished training for holiday sales and were told the new iMacs would be available in Nov (the 21.5 ") and the 27" in time for Christmas delivery."

nonetheless, this could easily work as the next excuse for sellers pushing down the stock...

Hopefully this becomes a lesson for all to be far more nimble with their trading.
I had a dream that we hit 520. I went to put in some orders, but we rebounded to 528 instantly. Just like in May.

Especially, since I am planning to buy one.

AAPL was upgraded yesterday by S&P from 'buy' to 'strong buy'.
"... we now believe it is a compelling value, especially as the holiday season is about to begin.... we also believe AAPL could decide to allocate additional capital to dividends and buybacks."

nonetheless, this could easily work as the next excuse for sellers pushing down the stock... Nobody is buying or selling this stock based on the iMac. Not everything is FUD either. We live in a world where information is now instantly available for better or worse. Rumor mills have no accountability. Everyone is looking to be the first to break the next big story. So they'll keep throwing shit on the wall until something sticks. It has nothing to do with the stock. It's all about the obsession people have over knowing everything about their favorite company's products.

$2.5 Billion going out to Apple shareholders today. I have no idea what typical reinvestment rates are, but if even 40% of that is reinvested, that's good for a net purchase of almost 2M shares.

$6 Billion iMacs sold in a year, 4.6 million units (click HERE)Delay in shipping? Not material, BUT troubling. APPLE management cares about: 1) Customer experience 2) High Margins = profits 3) Employees 4) Long term shareholders = price over 1 year (management's RSU grants) 5) CALL buyers? no, they don't care! Never have! Never will! Apple management would love to buy AAPL shares in their miniscule buyback program below current prices, whatever they may be. I do not expect any announcement by Apple management in the next 60 days before the next earnings call in January.

Did everyone forget that Apple makes 1 billion in cash every week? Wake me up when AAPL gets above the 20 day MA until then I see no big upward move.

Here we go red again....this is ridiculous.
The two points I've heard talked about are $525 and back to the channel - $480. Let's hope we stop bleeding at 525 and not 480.

Did everyone forget that Apple makes 1 billion in cash every week? Wake me up when AAPL gets above the 20 day MA until then I see no big upward move. The action right now is less about fundamentals and more about the liquidity of those funds holding the stock, especially those that are seriously over-leveraged. Despite paying out a dividend today, that soon gets gobbled up by any move down. It's all very well Apple earning a billion a week, but if that is not directly channeled to those holding the stock in a swift fashion, then it doesn't help those in a big hole who have no alternative but to sell.

8 straight weeks down guarantee. What is the longest streak in weekly downs in AAPL's history all time? We must be getting close. There is zero upward strength. So the question is can a stock like AAPL go down every week for an entire quarter ie till January?

I would like to just get to 522 and get it out of the way already.
Direction when we hit that will tell us a lot.

could someone explain what is this "% Change in Short Interest (from previous month)* at the fidelity.com. it shows +11.7% for Goog and +4.7% for aapl. Does it mean the current price fall might not due to short selling, rather by the lost of confident of the shareholder?

But how are funds still over-leveraged the stock is down 30% and was this price like 10 months ago. If this is the case they have been over-leveraged for months on end. AAPL has underplayed the NASDAQ basically since March so it seems odd that they would be over-leveraged if it is trading worse than the overall market.
