Lovey, the 50 crossing the 200 would really suck, do you think it can be avoided?

Where is the iWork update? This productivity suite can can do wonders for Apple in enterprise if they make it more robust over its current 09 iteration. At $69, that's called disruption. Good question. It's curtains for Federighi if he can't figure that out! Seriously, I don't think Apple had it very high on the list of priorities, though I expect a more robust iCloud-integrated version by next year.

I think Apple has something BIG under its fingernails here. Apple has a chance to chop the other leg off Mr. Softie's stool. I've already replaced Word with Pages. Next is Excel if Apple improves Numbers.

Two new iPhone 5 commercials tonight, titled "Turkey" and "Orchestra" The "watch factor" is improving, up from the depths of the Genius ads run during the Olympics (I don't forget). www.apple.com/iphone/videos/#tv-ads-thumb

Orchestra has an amusing meta-quality about it. The big question is, though...does Mercel, having predicted the failure of the Genius ads, approve these (commercial) messages?

Yeah, I'll let them run. ;D They're far from Apple's best but they'll work. I still don't think Steve Jobs would have approved these, however. The voice isn't great either.

Who laid an egg on the futures btw?
I am optimistic we will get a deal that dodges the fiscal "stair."

Do what is right, not what would Steve do, I say. Well, because Steve did.
The commercials are OK - I liked the 4S ones better.
C'mon, the meta-orchestra's fun, you have to admit.

He's done them for Apple before but his name escapes me.

He's better, yes. But I was thinking of Don LaFontaine. Problem is, he's unavailable (he's dead).

Who laid an egg on the futures btw? I am optimistic we will get a deal that dodges the fiscal "stair." Futures turned from green to red on the announcement of failure of the latest talks on giving Greece the next tranche of bailout money.

To Phil Schiller: Please, no more creepy John Malkovich commercials Redundant. My concern is the 50-something demo Apple keeps using. Again, an ad with Justin-Fucking-Beiber texting Selena Gomez. Or something with that cute vampire pothead tramp, wassername, Kristen Twilight? Someone who appeals to an audience not eligible for Medicare would be nice.

That's more like it! I wonder if Browett was responsible for those others.

S'cuse me, but we're the people with the money. Remember? But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to appeal to my teenagers so they'll apply leverage to get me to upgrade them.

MS is _hosed_ on Windows. Without a clear way forward, Mac is far from done taking share... Where is the iWork update? This productivity suite can can do wonders for Apple in enterprise if they make it more robust over its current 09 iteration. At $69, that's called disruption. Yes, very frustrating that Apple has not really brought the whole iWork concept up to par. I have a friend who is an editor at a major medical journal who loves her iPad (and her iPhone) but is thinking of switching to Surface because of Pages. Seems that editors like to have the revisions evident and Pages does not allow for editing with the revisions kept. That is a huge problem that Apple should have absolutely fixed by now. So, you see my friend's problem....keep the iPad that she loves that doesn't work for her in her business world or get a machine that will probably be horrible to use but will show her revisions. Apple needs to fix this particular problem for business users. Immediately! There is no excuse for this.
