Decided to start The Weekend
Apple guided 10% revenue growth for Q4. This means they plan on selling about 7=9% more iPhones this quarter. That is confirmation that the 8 is selling better then the 7 and 6S. I think better then 6S only because Apple sold that phone a week longer in the quarter. This folks is without the X that everyone keeps talking people are waiting for. The X will do very well. And even with a smaller inventory to sell, they will still move at least 10=15 million in Q1. Also the Series 3 Watch will move the needle a little this quarter but much more in Q1.
Smart money knows this and will start to buy up the stock before ER. Now we do have a full month before then so I think it will happen slowly. The damage the 10% drop did in the last three weeks on fairly heavy volume, will take time to repair. So I expect ATH around Holloween. However we may only be looking at 165-166.
The big move will be in Nov.

On the HomePod.
I assume Apple's late arrival to the game has a solid reason. Good sound is one factor. But is another factor a much deeper Siri/AI intelligence? I don't quite buy the sound issue as enough to buy it over the others.
On the 8.
At Best Buy today. The sales person said only sold one iPhone 8. No interest in it, it is the same as the 7. Sold many Samsung Note 8's, hot item.

I tried the "do not disturb while driving" mode, instead relying on Siri and it was a far more frustrating and dangerous experience. It's far easier to have my phone in a dedicated holder, and make the occasional tap here and there when needed. Six years later, and there is still almost zero intelligence or contextual recognition in Siri - it's embarrassing. I don't really care if any other assistants are better or not - the point is that Apple is pushing Siri hard yet Siri is a nightmarish experience, and has been from Day 1. If I get a HomePod, it certainly won't be to use Siri.

From Bloomberg: National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn said Sunday that the Trump administration’s proposed tax on offshore profits would be in the “10 percent range.”
If my theory that most of the gains we saw from 115 to 165 were driven by anticipation of the repatriation hopes, I would expect a strong positive reaction to this on Monday.

Not sure how this made it out into the wild with these problems ... then again maybe it's just me but I'm reading many similar stories. ARGHHHHH !!!!!!!
