Futures slightly green.. Greece deal, good weekend retail sales.
Putting AAPL aside, today's other market action was not destructive, could be constructive. Month end coming up. What holdings do you money managers want on the statements going out to customers?

Hey, will you look at that? In the couple of hours since I obliged Mercel's request to smite him, my karma is up 2 points!

We'll see how tomorrow is. For now, I'm cautiously optimistic, with a trim and trail on my stop-limit-backstopped (which is to say, 20% reliable? ) Mar 12 or something calls, and a get-the-heck-out-if-there's-strength-at-market-open plan for...uh...I kinda don't wanna say anything else about it since it's a shorter-term momo trade (but like I said, it ain't weeklies! In the technical sense...).

FYI, my question to wolverine was completely serious, not sarcastic at all, trying to understand exactly which of several possible points was the one he was trying to make. Seriously, were you wanting me to respond to your statement that Apple might continue to rise exponentially into the foreseeable future? It might, but I wouldn't bank your retirement on it. Or perhaps you should: I don't know; you don't know; no one knows. Evolutionarily, pigs might someday fly, but I wouldn't bet my doctoral dissertation on that subject. Or were you wanting me to respond to your statement about the timing of a new ATH in September of 800? You can play with the numbers and try to set a verbal trap for me, but going from an ATH of 700+ this fall to an analyst's expectation of 800 next September is not the kind of rise we hope for. That's the only point I was trying to make. Everyone here hopes to be at 800 well before that, and if we don't, we will be disappointed. Except, perhaps, for you.

You'll have to agree that Avi's skin is thinner than lamb skin, which isn't confidence-inspiring. No way, Jose! Avi's my EW teacher -- wouldn't trust anyone else! I loooooooove him!!!!! I may have to brush up on my EW if it illicits this type of affection. Boo yah!!!

Spoiler alert: CNBC is doing a segment on ND Football...so if you are still upset about where your team is or should I say, is not, then don't watch it! I wish they had played Oregon instead of USC. Oregon is the "AAPL" of the NCAA.

I assume you all saw that massive cross at the close? 1,485,104 shs. @ $589.27 That's just under $1 bln on each side. Any thoughts? Saw it. Not quite sure what to think.

Visited the Apple Store in Danbury, CT to replace a defective MBP power adapter under AppleCare. Left without buying anything which to my bride is a small miracle. Store is a "medium" format store with a fairly standard layout. Apple reps have shifted to red shirts for the holidays. LOTs of them in the store. Traffic picked up measurably between 10am and 12pm. Just a side note, unrelated to trading. But interesting. I applied for pretty much any job at Apple. Got an email last week to meet today for a group interview for part-time holiday sales work ("specialist"). Expected to be put under NDA but it was just an open discussion in the mall food court. On the clipboard was a page for C-V additions and schedule availability. The second page was a dozen or so knowledge questions like "what is the difference between RAM and a hard drive" and "name three Apple products that use Wifi." Some were a bit harder like "what built-in mac software can be used to share a photo slideshow?" and "state two ways to back up a mac". My comment to my bride was "Like shooting fish in a barrel." About an hour later I got called to schedule a one-on-one interview, which will happen tomorrow. If I'm not under NDA I'll report back. Their on-boarding and training process is what I'm interested in, even if I net $0 while working there. Gotta get an offer first! My wife worked part time as a specialist for Apple for a couple of years. They wanted her to take a genius position, but she didn't want to commit to those hours. After the first year she wanted to quit, but they wanted to keep her on the payroll so the last year she only worked one day a month, just so they could keep her on the payroll. We learned a lot of interesting things. I'm sure you will too. Oh! And enjoy the discounts. ;D

Everyone here hopes to be at 800 well before that, and if we don't, we will be disappointed. Nope While I'd like to see AAPL at 800, and you can say I hope that it will be there, I'm not buying options based on that level, and I won't be disappointed if AAPL isn't at that level. I do have some '14 spreads topping out at 700, 730, and 750. But if AAPL is merely at 700, 4 months after next September, we'll still make many times more than our yearly spending. I can live with that. That's likely leaving a lot on the table. At the same time, it's really hard to complain about portfolio wide gains anywhere in the triple digits.

Remember, some of us small people would be thrilled to just be able to say they can make a living from trading, let alone live Gangnam Style or something or other.
Many times yearly spending, nice cash flow worth a vacation a year or so, all levels of means and objectives and all (disciplined) approaches to investing and trading AAPL are welcome here.

The sooner Nick channels Mr. Market, the sooner he'll become a better trader.
Clearly, he is on the right path.
