Looking to be a good day for AAPL over here in Europe. Still 10 minutes from the open, but the Frankfurt Exchange shows AAPL at
458.3 Euro
or
595.5 Dollar
Moving up quickly! Power moves to all.

The trend is up (and I think we may be in for at least another AAPL gap up at market open), but the longer the trend is "parabolic" (even on a power bounce from a power selloff), the more cautiously we should tread. That's not to say stop everything, or even stop anything. Hey, I'm all about non-advice. Maybe just pay even more attention to your surroundings than usual and keep track of possible changes in the wind's direction, and yes I know how obvious that must sound. Just me of course, but I think you guys know what I mean. I'm more bullish than I usually am (over 75% invested), but I've got my stops and escape valves ready to go. Risked capital on a tighter leash, or momo trading with restraint, if such a thing is possible for me

This sounds like a good plan, roni.
My most short-term options are June 650 calls, which are nicely green. Was too chicken to go into earlier ones. Will sell them before Jan earnings, too. Probably start selling once we go above 600 until we hit a PE of 14 or 14.5.
The next batch are June 600 calls which I intend to sell half before Jan earnings and the other half between Jan and Apr earnings.
Of course, all this depends on the actual price action.
Won't touch my stocks or LEAPS before January.

Horace just tweeted this. Put your mind around this......
@asymco: 13% of iPhones 5 replaced an Android phone (in the US).

Early morning profit taking/consolidation. As noted by Rob and Ensign, iPhone 5 sales and iMac 21" release are in the news. I would not characterize the drop of 0.57 % as a "sell-the-news."

My daughter just swapped her crappy Motorola droid plus for an iPhone 5. She had wanted the physical keyboard ( big texter). Two days later she is not looking back. I had no idea she was shopping for a new phone but knew she got the iPhone because the first text she sent me came with the blue colored text window of iMessage. Nice surprise!

You have a smart daughter, Ensign. My daughter first bought the IPhone in August 2009 (when at the time I had a Blackburry from work, which I hated and found very limited to use). I think it was an IPhone 2, which she upgraded last year to an IPhone 4S. We also bought her the most powerful computer Apple makes (a tower) for her work as a computer animator, back in 2010.

US consumer confidence at highest since 2008, Case-Shiller housing indicator up 0.2%, Greek deal, strongest thanksgiving shopping season ever. Why is the market down? Retrace?

The effective range of trading today including pre-market is roughly 582-594. This is pretty common or even a bit narrow.

Are we going to fill that gap at 572? That was what I posted yesterday that I was concerned about having to look over my shoulder at that gap. If that is as far as it goes it will be a relief. Avi has me concerned it could be much lower.
