The people who can afford high-end smartphones, the segment foreign brands are focused on, have all bought one and now the market is mainly driven by demand for medium to low-end smartphones. Bullshit. What is worrying is it's Gartner as opposed to some no name small research group and a local research person said it. Gartner's actual track record is completely awful with respect to all things Apple and particularly mobile. They are at best random, at worst an actual contra-indicator. Horace has done a very good job in the past writing about WHY analysts such as Gartner are, in fact, contra-indicators. It's a fascinating phenomenon that helps provide wonderful investment opportunities.

Traffic control to AAPL1: You're on the wrong runway dummy! It's runway 580, do you read me? Shhh. Let him land on 590 Just to be clear, AAPL1 has advance permission to land anywhere -- it's the EO's who've hijacked the tower.

The people who can afford high-end smartphones, the segment foreign brands are focused on, have all bought one and now the market is mainly driven by demand for medium to low-end smartphones. Bullshit. I really hope so. Just wish I could find another source either way. What is worrying is it's Gartner as opposed to some no name small research group and a local research person said it. Gartner's actual track record is completely awful with respect to all things Apple and particularly mobile. They are at best random, at worst an actual contra-indicator. I didn't know that. They are spot on in some industries/segments. From first-hand experience I do know for many research reports they are paid (WELL) to focus on only criteria that show a vendor (the paying one) in a positive position. With this report I can't see who is to gain except maybe for maybe Gionee but then again maybe that's it. However, companies in the market segment of Gionee rarely pay for research reports.

Ha, beat me to it by a minute. LOL Yep, I can see this as being a catalyst. A few million subscribers annually. (Maybe 6, just like Sprint) The persistent rumor that Mercel is PED ( or vice-versa) surfaces again! Nobody has ever seen them in the same room at the same time. Hmmmmmm..

Kass short is not a surprise. He makes quick short term trades. After a quick run up(9 trading days) of nearly 90 points intraday low to high in a risk on market (fiscal cliff etc) plus the call wall tomorrow, not necessarily that crazy of a move..

Developing story? This could get to be amusing. Kass tweeted his AAPL short prior to the T-Mobile rumor. Now, following the rumor breaking on PED, his tweet disappeared. Any investigative journalists out there who can follow up?

He has actually been on again off gain short this week. He covered yesterday morning from his previous short. (from 590 I believe) I hope he gets burned on this one.

First Boehner - now here comes Reid. It's all disgusting....they need to lock themselves all in a room and figure this crap out. And please have the parent get in there as well.....HOWEVER....wtf was Lloyd Blankfein talking about saying that the two sides were fairly near?! I hate ALL politicians...and if that is being political then so be it.

He said something interesting, that you want to approach negotiations from a position of strength, and al least make it look like you have a strong position. Not so sure how strong the Repubs' position is, considering they didn't do too well in the election, but they're a bunch of middle-aged white men (mostly) who don't want to give up power too easily, and hopefully are just making a last gasp before they come to an agreement. Hopefully.

Well, early this morning, I sold 2 Jan 13 655 calls I got when I bought back the shorts of Jan13 655/660 BCSs as AAPL was declining. The theta & delta was just too scary, took a little over $200 loss. Then low and behold AAPL gains. I am now convinced all the EOs have my name and called each other up and told each other,"Hey, that idiot rickag sold, let screw with him." In need to tighten up my tinfoil hat.

I hate ALL politicians because of what they are making our AAPL do...and the rest of the market do...but Ms. iPad will have your head!
