Just a little info point, about 10 minutes until Apple store opening and about 30 in line and it would appear that about 10 have indicated that they’re here for batteries. Mostly kids... likely with hand me down phones. Probably not impacting sales of new phones, but expanding services revenue.

Our local store was replacing 20-40 batteries a day. Apple just created the mother of all upgrade cycles in 2020. My daughter now has 2 more years on her 6.
When the X really comes down in price, many of these kids will upgrade to it.

Was it something I said? Ha haa! I'm excited for what this quarter's 'Services' category made. If I remember it correctly, Q1 2017 Services made 7 bln. After Apple announced last week that it made $1.2 bln in just those two days, I imagine the app store revenues to be spectacular with all the new X, 8, and 8+ sales. Also, I think Apple Watch 3 must've boosted the 'Other Products' revs a lot. Q1 2017 was 4 bln. What say?

If claims to be GREEN, they will continue replacing batteries for $29.00 indefinitely. Their service revenue for apps and music will increase.

I doubt people will keep replacing batteries on the second round. At that time they will be ready to upgrade.

Just left our local COSTCO store. There was a new, in-your-face, impossible ro miss, free standing AAPLE product display table just inside the entrance doorway. Very impressive. Watches, iPads and iPhones all tethered but available to inspect and handle. It was getting a lot of attention.

Good to hear. Did Costco have LTE Watch in stock? Apple TV?

Apple TV ...yes. Sorry, didn't look that closely at watches but there were about half dozen on the display.

Very close to the front entrance in a prime spot is an all-things-Apple table with watches, iPhones, iPads, etc. It surprised me because I’m used to being assualted by Samsung displays when I walk in. Something clearly has changed at corporate because aside from TVs, Samsung crap is all shoved way down a side aisle now.

Something clearly has changed at corporate because aside from TVs, Samsung crap is all shoved way down a side aisle now. Our Sams Club had a similar thing when I visited Friday. They moved the cell phone table up from around the first corner, onto the entry path (think of a standard Costco entry), what was just TVs in the past. And then there was a table of Apple products just before the cell phones, with a bar of non-Apple tablets behind it. Nothing too crazy, and I couldn't find a price on the non-Pro iPads. But it is now closer to the door, and I'll have to see how it compares to our Costco setups. My guess is that TV sales aren't as high as they once were (they just aren't something that most people replace very often), so they are mixing things up.

2:37 AM - Asia up big and our futures are above 200 points.
If the call wall butchers don't play their game we should be around 180 today.
