Robert's post is optimistic cause for both a shorter-term and longer-term growth. Naturally, concern on gross margins this quarter has knocked around $ 3 off EPS estimates.

There is a new free app for the iPad called DECKFOLIO that looks like a useful tool for options trading.

Forgot to mention we went to see the movie Flight, Friday night. Not a movie I would recommend for anyone to go see, but there was a good part, his iphone survived the plane crash without a scratch. ;D

What's everyone's opinion on the new weekly options being offered 5 weeks ahead?
I presume it will increase the amount of contracts each week, which in turn will reinforce Friday Max Pain pinning.
Anyone have an alternative view?

Anyone have an alternative view? Wouldn't the same option dollar volume, spread out over more weeks, dilute the Max Pain effect?

Rolling is more flexible...not just to next week or next monthly for hot money plays. i think this dilutes some volatility..

Quite frankly, I'm hoping a lot more people get burned and everyone gets up in arms and they shut every weekly from here to kingdom come down! IMHO ;D

Went to an Apple reseller today to recon a new iMac, no luck, but I was able to get my hands on the Mini. I was blown away. Seems awfully small but presents very large. Extremely light and I love the Slate back. Impressive product. Apple did good and have priced it where they should have. It is a solid product.

This weekend is the most optimistic I've seen in AAPL land since August. Shorter term price targets from 640-700. 1 year targets from 740-950.

I agree with some of what he wrote but his track record as an AAPL analyst is horrendous. I love his effort and he's a very nice guy but he's consistently extremely inaccurate. This isn't to disparage DT, it is just meant to shed some light on where it's coming from. He does provide a lot of food for thought though which is great!

I'm feeling the same way this weekend, but I wonder if it's just some kind of an emotional rebound from the despair of the slide to $550. What are your reasons for optimism?

I have always been impressed with how the forum presents on the iPad, Is it safe to assume that it scales to the mini just as well?

On one hand you characterize his analysis as "horrendous" and then claim you aren't disparaging him. I find your characterizations both inflammatory and ridiculous. The fact is, Robert's estimates over the quarters he's generously provided them to PED are significantly better than any composite average of all participants featured in the quarterly roundup. Has there been one analyst in the group who stands head and shoulders above all others in terms of accuracy? No. There are a few who probably have a better overall score -- depending on the criteria used to evaluate this -- but your criticisms are over the top here.

I was kind of rooting for Alabama since Texas A&M beat Alabama it might help A&Ms strength of schedule in the final rankings. Next I'm hoping Johnny Manziel wins the Heisman trophy. Thought the Dogs would win for a while. Bama was the better team and will represent the SEC nicely. That was a dominating offensive line performance by Alabama. That was one physical football game. It is good they have several weeks to recover, especially for that refrigerator they call a nose guard. Rick, I hope Johnny football wins, he sure deserves it. An incredibly gifted player. I think he is and he seems to be well grounded too.

I have always been impressed with how the forum presents on the iPad, Is it safe to assume that it scales to the mini just as well? It scales to the mini perfectly. You can play around with the font size in the apps settings. I have it set to very large and I find it perfect. I was in the local Staples store yesterday and was talking to the manager. He told me that every mini they received so far were sold within a couple of hours and that they were notified by Apple that there won't be any new shipment before Xmas.

Visited the 5Th Ave Apple store on Saturday morning. Visited the small holiday Microsoft store in Times Square. Easily got my hands on a surface as there were many available on the tables. Not a nerd so I was totally lost as how the suckers function. I gave up before i asked . Shot a pan of the 5th avenue store. Attachments:

Although a novel idea, the 5th avenue store was not my favorite, I like the Terminal store. Every time we went by it it had a line to go in. (It was just a few steps from out hotel.)

My apologies if they come across as over the top. And I certainly am not disparaging DT. His motives are good and positive and the data he gathers and stores on his site is great. I just think the analysis is poor and believe history supports that assertion. Nothing more, nothing less. I think Turley, Deagol, and AZ have better track records. Of course, they aren't perfect either.
