AAPL could be drop 100 dollars a share today and it wouldn't even surprise me. This stock manipulation is a joke haha. Manipulation does not work without sellers being willing to cooperate. I know it feels better to blame the "machine" when our investments do not work out, but people need to take responsibility for their own results and not look to blame others. I include myself in this, and the various mistakes I have made recently.

Lstream, I am not blaming anyone simply saying the stock is being pushed around in the wrong direction. I can be upset when a stock drops 30% on basically overblown media coverage. I am not blaming machines. I couldn't care less why it is falling. I just completely think it is joke and completely irrational.

I am not blaming machines. I couldn't care less why it is falling. I just completely think it is joke and completely irrational. It's overblown, for sure, but most of it is explainable. You have taxes going up in the USA, people/funds are closing positions to take profits at the lower tax rate. You have speculators coming in and shorting, then getting out. You have daily media crapping on Apple spreading FUD, both mainstream media and individual bloggers. All of this and probably more leads to high emotions and herd mentality which explains the volatility. Fundamentally this really has next to nothing to do with Apple as an actual company.

But irrational is how we make money, if we handle it right. I did not leave enough dry powder in my trading account for events like this. My mistake.

Closed most of our Jan 2014 $600's yesterday soon after the open at $65 and $64 and change.
re-opened a part of them at $54 and change this morning. Holding more cash than usual and have opened a couple of new dividend positions with a little bit of the proceeds.
I am going to wait now

Good job roni. I held my 2015 LEAPS through the second drop, picked them up at 520 during the first drop. Are you selling covered calls every week against your LEAPS. I've had good success with that, hopefully my 620's for this week don't get called away : P. Awe what the hell I HOPE they get called away tomorrow.
Looking for positives out of all of this, here's one : This past 2 months action will take AAPL option premiums to the next level. When a stock price experiences wild swings (relative to how it usually trades) option prices go up, to reflect the increased probability of the option running in the money given the "new" price variance.

Lets goooo. Against my better judgment picked up 550 for next week when we were at 529 range.
Anyone think TC interview could be good for tomorrow or the TV comment that was already released was the most juice we will get?

Cramer pumping sell aapl again this morning. All I know I do everything the opposite of him. So I guess we are due for a huge rally. In all fairness - he is saying that people with big gains are selling for tax reasons given our situation. He also says you should just OWN AAPL and forget about it. He continues to be long. His point was that there is NOTHING wrong with the company and this is only tax crap. So as much as I don't like the guy....he is not saying anything wrong here.

The death cross could be a good thing. Last time it happened for apple, occurred in 2008. Stock rallied hard after the death cross.

Good to see green, and I'm glad I slept in. Normally I'm up before the bell, but looking at the chart that extra hour of sleep let me skip the craziness.
BTW, the last 2 articles I read before bed were on Siri in the car. This should turn into at least a hobby, and could be much more if the auto market doesn't get polarized over choices (Siri, OnStar, and a Google option). I think the real way to make headway there is to have the iPhone do the heavy lifting with a connector in the glovebox and button on the wheel. The real integration would be for those that pay the extra $$$ for the added option of Siri completely built in, but having the cabling there leans everything in Apple's favor.
Just interesting to see a potentially whole new thing, with potentially large volumes, come out right under everyone's nose.

I now know why a lot of you respect Avi's opinion. This is pretty amazing. He called apple $530, $700, $505 bounce to high 500s AND THIS dip AND calling for new highs t.co/wNDcrLtA
