Looking to the future: The Hobbit, Star Trek Into Darkness, new Mac Pros coming soon, a nice casserole.
Surprisingly low profanity. I think I'm worn out for that for the past few months and year.

I said that earlier today. There must be an echo in here, I wonder if that is a bug or a feature ?

Unbelievable. Missed the capitulation again because of travel. Glad to see it turn green. Did not expect everything to happen so suddenly.

Avi said he thought we would target 515/517. Brilliant. From now on I promise to trade exactly what he says.

Lets goooo. Against my better judgment picked up 550 for next week when we were at 529 range. Anyone think TC interview could be good for tomorrow or the TV comment that was already released was the most juice we will get? I would think most of the NBC show PUSH is now in. Friday at the open, we will get the Cramer fools. The Cramer fools are the "investors" who buy stocks Jimmy touts on his show and buy in after hours. These same investors will buy on the open after watching the program tonight. Others will buy Friday after watching the long lines in China for the iPad mini. Next week, the HUGE article about Mr. Cook is in Business Week.

Okay, with Avi's permission, I'm posting his latest AAPL-EW intraday chart (with the targets he updated YESTERDAY before today's drop!)... He's looking for confirmation or invalidation of this pattern: AAPL INTRADAY 3-MIN CHART: (Avi's chart with my yellow arrows) I'm moving all the EW "chart" stuff to the EW thread...so follow-up goes there...

Thanks, Phoebes!! I love Scott... Scott, going over AAPL's recent chart history: "Boom. No one expected a move down to 505, but it happened. Okay, maybe someone did -- it wasn't me."

Don't like today's action Puts me in mind of Monday
( Well at least things are better than yesterday and this morning).
But this looks more like an oversold bounce than a reversal

Are we going to get an announcement today from Judge Koh? At this moment, I don't see anything. Doubt she reveals much today. I think she requested written arguments and is hearing oral argument today. This was scheduled as a hearing. Usually a written decision would follow sometime later.

@asymco: Apple CEO Tim Cook announces plans to manufacture Mac computers in USA - Rock Center with Brian Williams t.co/ONJPfapLMercel will be salivating over the television comments at the end og the interview.... I just read it. APPLE HDTV IS COMING FOLKS! What’s next for Apple? Did Cook leave us with a clue?
“When I go into my living room and turn on the TV, I feel like I have gone backwards in time by 20 to 30 years,” Cook told Williams. “It’s an area of intense interest. I can’t say more than that.”Because Tim's repeated comments about where the Apple TV string takes the company weren't clear enough somehow... In other news, AAPL is trading much too wildly for me these days. Big congrats to whoever bought the dip. Wasn't me...

I see one good thing about our stock getting clobbered and recovering repeatedly. Much of the selling is panic selling when it drops off a cliff and the more it happens, then recovers, the less panic there will be each time. Could the manipulators game be exposed after several rounds? Just trying to find the silver lining!

After reading yet another article about Apple moving some Mac assembly back to the U.S., I found myself wondering if Tim's meeting with Obama had anything to do with this. Could it be a trade-off for favorable consideration regarding lower taxes on repatriated funds?

Could it be a trade-off for favorable consideration regarding lower taxes on repatriated funds? That was my original thinking. Obama wants to bring jobs back home from china. I bet he offered some type of tax break/incentive in order to do so.

i have a question about all the 'tax selling' and I think we touched on it in the past since there is no wash rule on selling gains. If this was such a concern for someone to lock in their 15% cap gains tax now, yet they still wanted to hold Apple stock, wouldn't they just be selling their shares, and then immediately rebuying them after? Wouldn't the re-buying pressure balance out all the selling pressure?
Or is it a temptation to improve one's cost basis, so people are not re-buying, or at least waiting to re-buy until they feel the selling is finished?
My understanding of the locking in the tax would be selling and rebuying, but for this excuse to be valid for the pressure on the stock, I'd have to assume it's a waiting game to re-buy.
