In honor of the whipping that all the Fudsters took in the first two weeks of this month, let's remind ourselves that it has ever been thus for Apple supporters with These are the 5 worst Apple predictions of all-time. My advice: party while you can because we all know we will have to go through this again in three months. Sure is sweet in the mean time, though.

Question for the group... looking to do a little div re-investment.. thinking about jumping up to watch series 3 cellular from my series 1, but concerned that the minute I pull the trigger they announce a new watch at wwdc - there’s been no talk of new watches coming, correct? Also, thinking of a new iPad... that div money is burning a hole in my pocket, but this quarter might need the help 😊

Continued from yesterday... It’s no wonder corporations are pleased with tax reform. Per Apple’s 10-Q AAPL is going to pay via the instalment plan, as I’m sure every corporation will elect to. They’ll invest their tax bill, probably - oh the irony - in US Treasuries/TIPS, and earn money on what they owe. Then, they’ll pay later in devalued/inflated dollars. For AAPL, their $36B or $38B tax bill (likely $36), will be paid on the installment schedule, likely just from their growth of FCF. So, another spare near-term $36B for buybacks, or future dividend increases. The new $100B buyback approval, and any remaining unspent $25B from previous approvals, is likely to get spent at a faster pace that previously. Floor under AAPL, maybe $160.? Election to Pay Net Tax Liability in Eight Installments Taxpayers can elect to pay the tax over an eight-year period. A special rule permits shareholders that are S corporations to defer the tax much longer, and a time-sensitive planning opportunity exists for taxpayers with Net Operating Losses (NOLs). The eight annual installments spread is as follows: - 8% of the tax in each of the first five installments; - 15% of the tax in the sixth installment - 20% of the tax in the seventh installment; and, - 25% of the tax in the eighth installment. Apple won’t be paying that $36B, for a long time. The Treasury may have access to it, paying interest to do so.

Per Mactracker app: The Watch Series 1 is still nice, and much better than the original. Anyone that has the original might as well spend $150. (sales lately, check Macy's and Target) now and enjoy, then buy the Series 4 on Black Friday. I'm waiting for Series 4 to upgrade my wife's Series 2. Our teenager really wants a Watch. She has allowance saved that she can spend now, or wait to have mom's Series 2 hand me down.

Happy mother's day! While not a 6-like super cycle, iPhone 8/8s/X sales continue to look strong.
