being long, I’m not too worried about dips like this, as irrational as they are. As long as AAPL touches new highs and demonstrates to the market that it can reach those heights then all we [the longs] should be hopeful about is whether Apple is taking advantage of any pull backs. The market is easily spooked by analysts, regardless of their qualifications. The analysts are really there to influence sentiment. They will talk stocks up and down as it suits their portfolios. Sentiment is just noise - a distraction, to the fundamental story. The only time we really need to pay close attention to sentiment is when buying in or selling out.
Political machinations is just noise too. The political event/news cycle is so short and so flippity flopity that it just creates turbulence . Apple is such a bohemouth that it is it’s own economy. Apple is telling more of the story than anyone else.
Having said that, I think this board is a fantastic resource as an index of sentiment and understanding what drives that sentiment. So when I’m ready to sell (or buy), I’ll know what to look out for.

This article is sourced from an original report by our old friend Ming-Chi Kuo. Besides the predictable doom and gloom, I also find his predictions about what models will be shipped to be suspect (two sizes of OLED and an intermediate LCD model). The Plus-sized models have become very popular, and he does not mention one for the LCD version. I know that the intent is for LCD to be the "low-cost" option, but omitting a Plus-sized version will leave many customers with an unsatisfactory choice between a high-end phone that they consider too expensive and a cheaper model that they consider too small. The great mystery for me is what the new OLED phones will be named. Somehow I can't imagine iPhone XI as the likely successor to the iPhone X. Thoughts?

I still have always liked the idea of an "iPhone Air," "iPhone," and "iPhone Pro." Maybe post-iPhone X is the time to finally drop the incremental naming convention.

So the hit was only ~ 1%. I believe it was 1.5-2% in January.

Ugh, supply chain checks. Fake News clickbait CNBC never passes.
Lots of tech journos need a punch right to the groin.
