This 701/702 pin is frustrating.
If Apple hasn't used up those 10 billion buyback dollars yet, maybe they should step in now and give the stock a kick-start towards 750.

Heheh, an Apple exec would have to sell some shares first.

I tried to private message someone over there that was asking where to find us. Received a "blacklisted" message. The same thing happened to me but the individual managed to find his way.

Although I understand your frustration, I am pleased with AAPL's behavior the past couple of days. Disclaimer: I do not hold any close-in options

I'm liking this action the past half-hour. We are trying to build a little strength late in day. I would love to see 703.75 here...

Just heard Mossberg do a quick video review of the iPhone 5. He said turn-by-turn navigation on the new Maps works fine. He dinged the app for lack of street view.

Neither do I, roni. Trying to be fractionally smarter day by day with the trading.
As only one point of reference, Redler at T3 seems to be in the "basing/consolidation/digestion" camp; another of the T3 principals, more of a day-trader type (though Redler day trades too), appears to be short AAPL (probably that rising wedge/exhaustion theory).
I'm with Redler on this one. The world is waiting on proof of Apple's ability to move iPhone 5 product, but the market is getting very used to trading AAPL around this level. Considering how far away 700 has seemed at times, I choose to call this a very good sign. Rest stops and pullbacks are two different things. The key nuance is 700. AAPL isn't getting tired just before 700, it's made the plateau and is holding higher.

Siri on New iPad? I wasn't expecting that... Passbook does not seem to be working on iPhone yet. Everything else is very impressive.

Negative ads have NEVER worked against Apple. EVER. (Since '96, anyway.) Hi RealNetworks and SanDisk. And Microsoft. Maybe negative ads for tech work when a product is niche and poorly understood or something. But indirectly insulting (or worse) millions and millions of users isn't much of a winning strategy. Biggest...cult...EVAR. It doesn't take a genius...to see why Apple products are so popular. (Or why Samsung got smacked down pretty hard by that California jury.)

Just sold 5 of my Sep 680 calls @ 24.10 for a profit of ~12K.
I have two more days to sell the remaining 10. 710 by Friday seems within range if the OpEx thingy doesn't kill the steady momentum.

Quad witching Friday is kind of whatever. Anything can happen. I may hedge up a little before then, we'll see.
Broken record starting up again - this week is pretty much prelude. Moment of truth is next week (for now).

Gutsy call last week. Apparently it wasn't necessarily all weeklies. Nice trading!

Apple reinvented this genre with its "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" series of commercials, which were brilliant. Turnabout is fair play, but the Samsung commercials are just lame. SJ was a master showman. So far his directing hand is missed most in Apple's advertising.

Samsung did this last year with mixed results. I became very irritated last year until the results came out. They can't stand on their own devices so they mock and try to discredit Apple. Hmmmmm

Just updated to iOS6. Flyover is missing in suburbian Toronto, Canada. I guess I'll be looking at downloading Google's new Maps app (supposedly loaded with ads now).
The new App Store look is amazing, but they've got to fix the slight stutter when scrolling horizontally when the app icons to the right of the screen haven't been loaded yet. In other words, they've got to pre-load the app icons for each drawers.

Buyback of that size won't move the stock, but begins in October. Lets remember one thing, this is not really a true buy-back. All it does is keep the outstanding shares from continuing to grow. It is a very welcome sight, something I was calling for 5 years ago. It should pay off in a few years.

Can we hold above 700 before the close? In contrast to yesterday we're losing momentum at the close.

I appreciate both forums. Braeburn has an extensive set of topics for the long term, including Apple suppliers, macro economics. Braeburn looks to improve AAPL prestige with some formal posts from time to time. AFB has a lot of day news.

AAPL held just a smidge higher at market close - up 19 cents to 702.10.
Short-short term, a little concern due to fading momentum. But the fact is, we didn't break 700 all day. 690 hasn't been in play all week.
Broader market remains sleepy for some stocks.
