Uncle Warren announces his earnings tomorrow. I'm sure he'll say he bought a crap load of AAPL too. Should help move the stock again tomorrow. WORD ON THE STREET: Warren Buffett is up big in his Apple position Wednesday after the company reported a better-than-expected earnings report. The Oracle of Omaha's Berkshire Hathaway owns 239.6 million shares of Apple as of March quarter-end, according to FactSet. With Wednesday's more than 9 point rally in the shares, Buffett's company is up approximately $2.3 billion on its position, assuming it hasn't sold shares since then. Warren Buffett is having a good day. Apple AAPL shares rose 5 percent Wednesday, a day after it posted better than expected fiscal third-quarter earnings per share of $2.34, beating the $2.18 Thomson Reuters consensus. The company also gave sales guidance above Wall Street expectations for its September quarter. The Oracle of Omaha's Berkshire Hathaway owns 239.6 million shares of Apple as of the end of March, according to FactSet. With Wednesday's more than 9 point rally in the shares, Buffett's company is up approximately $2.3 billion on its position, assuming it hasn't sold shares since then. In May, Buffett told CNBC why he likes Apple so much as an investment. "I clearly like Apple. We buy them to hold," Buffett said on CNBC's "Squawk Box." "We bought about 5 percent of the company. I'd love to own 100 percent of it. ... We like very much the economics of their activities. We like very much the management and the way they think."

Ok ... just to change the topic for a second .... Broken record statement by me .... Apple should buy or invest/partner with Tesla. Tesla needs money to pursue additional factories/manufacturing to get model Y and Semi out faster .... as well as expand the amount of batteries it can produce. Tesla needs software engineers to help develop it's AI chip and autonomous driving software. Apple wants to be in the autonomous driving space. Both companies share an interest in alternative energy. Oddly enough ... as I type this ... I'm watching CNBC on delay and they just brought this up ..... Analysts disagree with me .... which makes me think I'm absolutely correct.

Yahoo is showing a high of $207.05...
Looks like AAPL hit the threshold and pulled back.

Hey all - Lovemyipad and Mav started this board and she reached out to me from the old AFB Board years ago. I followed her as well into Avi’s site. I’m out and about right now but when I get back home I will see if she is still part of that site and will send her a message about this site. I will let you know either way.

Congrats LONGS - ultimate revenge on the FUDsters nonsense - aside from the great conference call - Tim sounded VERY upbeat about future products and offerings - can't wait to see what's next. On the subject of TSLA - I agree - I see tala as a "mini-apple" - i.e. visionary founder disrupting an industry and making electric fun, and splashy, and very consumer freindly- we took delivery of our Model 3 with extend range (310 miles) and full auto-pilot and feee like it was a very good purchase - love the safety of all of these sensors, and driving up highway 5 and stopping at the supercharging stations is breeze and FUN -
So, yes, in a perfect world, Tim would buy or partner with Elon on the best in class automated driving / apple experience - but time will tell. They do need cash, supply chain management, and manufacturing smarts, this Model 3 ramp up has been very very ugly. After living with the model 3 for a few weeks - if he can succeed and bring the base 35k model to market he will sell these as fast as they can make them.
BUT back to AAPL - unbelievable - I agree a runway to $300 in 3-4 years is very acheievalbe on buybacks (which gets us $60 of that gain - plus the organic growth they are bringing in from subscriptions and services. I actually have a ten year model which get's us way past $300 per share on continued buybacks and growth.
GO APPL!! CONGRATS LONGS - been here (mostly lurking) forever but love the no-nonsense home for info and discussion- hopefully we can keep it alive/active.

The only way this could happen is if Braeburn investment make a silent investment. The 2 culture are way different and would Clash. That said a joint investment in a type of new battery tech could be a possible solution

With all due respect, I feel like your position is tainted by the fact that you are indeed a "former" Tesla stockholder and a "current" GM and Ford stockholder. IF you reverse that equation you may feel differently. BTW, I'm so glad I diversified our portfolio .... being 100% in one stock is nuts .... glad we added some TSLA Just kidding of course ..... I'm still hardly "diversified" but we invest in what we believe in. Can't believe I'm having a better day than we did yesterday as both our investments are knocking it out of the park right now. I will revel in this today for I understand share appreciation is never in a straight line and there will be some awful days soon enough ... but not today. Cheers to the longs.

LOL Tesla is a cult run by a madman. You cannot be serious.
Jobs and Musk have nothing in common. Jobs actually made his companies these things called profits. Musk burns through shareholder wealth and taxpayer subsidies while losing billions.
Jobs would say about cars what he said about TV's: "People buy them every 10 years and the margins suck."
There is no market for electric cars. If and when there is one, the majors will step in and gobble it up and destroy Tesla. Musk is clueless. He uses more employees for final robotic assembly than companies with non-automated final assembly lines, while hemorrhaging billions for the privilege. The other day, it all broke down, and they were using forklifts to move the cars around the line, LOL! There is video of it on the Internet. And there are these big graveyards in the desert where Teslas are piling up for some reason (hello, SEC?).
If Tesla isn't a cult, then rebut anything I've said above and show the fundamental case, not how fun and shiny your new money losing car is. Otherwise, you're just investing on climate religion and your feewings.
Sorry to be so harsh, not a personal attack (again, the butthurt whenever someone criticizes Tesla suggests a cult), but this cult is getting ridiculous. They miss and the stock is up 10%? That sounds like a cult to me.
Oh and I'll save you the trouble and time of the usual ludicrous response, "But but but the oil companies get tax breaks!!!" LOL the wildly profitable oil companies get tax breaks that are rounding errors on their 10Q's, while paying BILLIONS in net taxes on both income and at the pump ($1/gallon in my state!).
Impossible not to make money on oil, unless it's done by socialist countries, in which case the people will starve and eat the zoo animals. But we've yet to see anyone make money on an electric car (the recently-departed FCA chairman was begging people not to buy his EV's, LOL!).
Anyway, in other news, WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

There are a lot of great ideas surfacing this morning for contacting Lovemyipad. Please follow your leads wherever it takes you and ask the Board for help if needed. I'm hopeful we'll find here. Restarting the Board is a last resort as we lose all of our history and most likely a few members in the process. Mav thought he had, but couldn't find her contact info. If we do have to start a new board, do we stay on ProBoards? If we pick a new platform, let's make sure it works across all Apple devices, please.

I have contacted Robert ar Braeburn and this is his reply:
“ Elmar:
I do not have contact information for her and it’s been literally years since I’ve even looked at that board. Is there a way to contact Proboards for help?
Robert”
So it seems that she is no longer with us. Maybe she has been captured by Aliens? 👽😉😉
P. S. I do not believe that aliens could have possibly visited earth.

There have been suggestions that we consider other platforms. CdnPhoto is looking at Slack. If anyone would like to assist, please PM him.
My concern with moving is losing the rich history we have here, possibly losing members along the way and the learning curve is associated with any new environment.
***
For security reasons, ProBoards requires the current Board Adminstrator (Lovemyipad) to perform any Administration changes. For the same reason they will not divulge information about any users --which they have not acknowledged they even have.
I appreciate the later though it is making life difficult.

A new pro boards forum WOULD NOT be the end of the world. Remember the old AFB?
