PED has What the analysts are sayingsome snippits TL;DR: Watch! ASP! I'm thinking with the increase in ASP, we could see some additional price target increases soon. Update

AFB Sustainability
Been dragging my feet hoping Lovemyipad would show up, but so far not.
Could use some help to successfully pull off a transition. If you can help with any of the following please PM me 1. laying out the new board, 2. Assisting members with the transition, and 3. Administrators for the new board.
The gameplan is: 1) to get the new Board setup roughly mirroring the existing Board, 2) to prepare instructions for accessing the new Board and becoming a member, 3) inviting members and lurkers to become a member of the new Board, 4) with at least a weeks notice going live on the new Board, 5) following up here and via messages with stragglers.
I don't anticipate any of these being overwhelming tasks. Strongly prefer to have others involved -- 2 (or more) eyes are always helpful.
AFB's 1T to ∞ Celebration
A group of us are meeting in New Hampshire's White Mountains October 9 - 12. The White Mountains are renowned for their Fall Foliage and this is expected to be the peak week. It's not too late to join us. Please PM me if you are interested in joining.

Agree with what I've been reading. I think the higher ASP will make a dramatic difference in EPS for the next few quarters. WS should prepare to be blown away by the numbers ....
Since my wife and I just got iPhoneXs recently I'm going to skip this generation but I will be buying 2 watches. I have the original watch and it's long overdue for an overhaul ...
Cheers to the longs.

I have no problem with precision but doesn't it seem a little arrogant to change a target from 250 to 256? Or even worse from 245 to 247? Does anyone actually believe that these analysts (those of the unanimous super-cycle) have that kind of accuracy? It is beyond delusional.

Does anyone actually believe that these analysts (those of the unanimous super-cycle) have that kind of accuracy? It is beyond delusional. I sometimes do have a problem with false precision, but I'm fine with them updating their numbers in small increments instead of just reiterating their numbers. It's just one of the things they do. A big event happens, presumably giving new info that they need to digest. It changes their ASP or their unit sales figures just a little, and so they update them. At the same time, it puts their name out there again while also showing their followers that they are paying attention and updating with new info, instead of just sitting on a number for 12 months. Isn't that what PED is getting up in arms at, of so many estimates being underwater. Personally, I just use the easy math of a conservative multiplier. Maybe I feel AAPL is likely to grow at least 10% YOY (90% chance), and pretty likely to grown at least 12% YOY (70% chance), and likely to grown at least 15% YOY (50% chance). I could even base that on the 20 or even 50 day moving average, just to get rid of some peakiness. But that means that after a tremendously positive move in August, I'd up my 12 month targets. Of course that's a little backwards, basing the future price (stock) on the current price if the current price already takes into account expected future gains by the company. But that's the easy math. And with the stock price that often isn't logical, sometimes the easy math is just as accurate as the overly precise estimates.

I got my 227 a day late. I expect us to go back down under 220 next week.
The Xr has been well received. It will sell well and be in short supply for most of the Christmas season. Lack of supply will drive the negative sentiment like it did for the X last year.

(Nice move AAPL. I wasn't expecting to see the high $220's for another week) Agreed, but it makes me even more certain that the late-day dip on Friday was just a concerted effort by the fund managers to set themselves up for cheaper buy-backs this week before the big event. Now, to quote that famous financial expert Ralph Kramden, "To the moon, Alice!" (kids, ask your parents who Ralph Kramden was)

I had to snicker when I read that "upgrade" from 245 to 247 , why bother ? ..... the fact is, I think Huberty is one of the better Apple analysts out there so I'll cut her a break.

Lack of supply will drive the negative sentiment like it did for the X last year. I think there is time to make ample Xr’s. Could be that shipping delay is to ensure a large stack out of the gate, rather than lead with feeble supply and put people even more on the fence re: XS or Xr. I believe we will see ASP growth and unit growth, and negative sentiment will be drowned out by tv bundle impact on services growth. There’s a lot of positive news and unveilings (hardware + services) still to come in this year imho. If there were serious issues with supply I think the negative sentiment would already be deafening.

I agree with everything you say, but I think it will be more popular then the X and it will cause a longer delay. It won’t impact earnings but simply push forward into 2nd quarter the increased sales. I don’t think the Xs will sell that well.

Apple Watch 4 eligable for purchase with FSA/HSA? All, or partial? The FDA approvals should help. Interesting, with China trade war concerns flipping on and off from day to day, I didn't realize short interest was so high and must be contributing to the volatility with trades being put on and taken off.
The stock has been so strong in spite of this, it's truly amazing.
Cheers to the longs!

The Most-Shorted Stock on the Market Isn't Tesla Anymore I would imagine this is just a by product of reaching ATH for both stocks. However I have been paying attention to short interest in options for S&P and Apple for Oct and it is rather large.
