When, and how many times, have we heard “peak iPhone” before?
Spoiler - “many, many times over”.

Hello everybody.
We're set to open in a couple of minutes around 191. This downfall seems to be dragging a bit much. But we've all seen this before.
I picked up shares and calls at 220, 200, 194, and have an order set at 186.
It doesn't seem like Apple has started buying in big amounts yet.

Perhaps we found the bottom?

The mashable article is spot on. I think TC and company are thinking short term. Meaning cashing out in the next three years. I don’t mind paying $1000 for an iPhone that is much improved then the last. But slightly bigger creen that the naked eye can’t really notice and Face ID that is less practical and slower then prior method, can’t justify the price increase. Now if the best at 50% more processor power and 50% more battery life then, I could justify paying more.

Headed toward a confirmed red dog reversal. Worth a short term play if we are above yesterday's low (193.79) near the close.

Very interesting article. FaceTime is only the most obvious feature to leverage the addition of a camera. The descriptions of how it can be used to enable or enhance other features made it clear (at least to this reader) that Watch is a key focus for the future. Just as iPhones have taken over functions once only available on a portable computer, so too will many functions migrate to the wrist.

I have NO proof of this theory but I feel the fact that we are not deep red right now is due to Apple buying back tons of stock, I'm not feeling ANY love or positive outlooks from WS.
Thank goodness they've got the money to buy back right now ... long term it's a great thing.
BTW, I just watched Steve Woz on CNBC and boy am I disappointed in him. I haven't thought much about his analysis of the tech sector and where we are headed for many years but he's really clueless IMHO.
Cheers to the longs.

Reminder there is a gap to fill at about $189.

Reminder there is a gap to fill at about $189. Those Jan 2019 $200 calls for $6 and change look real tempting. I swore off options years ago but might make a small play. Some folks never learn :/

Some folks never learn :/ I'm occasionally tempted, but have stayed away from short term options for a while, especially straight calls, and it's even been a few years since I bought spreads. OTOH, the bull market will end, some year. So buying slightly out of the money bull call spreads over a year out isn't as much of a sure thing. Though one could spread them out over both 2019 and 2020, where one could get 195-220's for $10, or 220-245 for $8, for either date. Of course there's also the option of writing puts (if I'm ready to buy at $180, why not get paid a few bucks for that decision), or buying ITM spreads once you think things have bottomed, or are even recovering. So many options... OTOH, one could sit firm, but think about if there is something they should have done differently. As we see these dips and falls every once in a while, having a game plan ready for the next time can be helpful. Even if that game plan is to just sit back and calmly continue to collect the dividends.

That's my game plan, been through this many times since '84.
