That’s some really cool echnology. The ability to use your hands for VR control would be amazing. Think about the ability to control the iPad or iPhone without touching it. Star Teck has arrived. What’s even more exciting is the 5G and a much improved design. We should see another mother of all upgrades in 2020. Glad to see the press catching up with what I have been saying for over a year.

Note that on the Netflix news, the inability to pay through itunes ONLY affects NEW account signups. So for those that already pay Netflix through iTunes, Apple will continue to collect revenue. Apple just won’t be able to grow that revenue from Netflix anymore.

None of this bothers me too much but where does the indoctrination begin and the censorship end.
In other news….

For fun anyone care to make any 2019 predictions for Apple growing the business? I'll throw out that given they're going to launch a video streaming business and also given the strong balance sheet, why not do a big studio/content acquisition? Viacom with their media networks and filmed entertainment (Paramount Pictures and Television) is one of the last to be had. Sony's another one but would be a lot more expensive and messy. It's not as pure a play as Viacom and would require breaking up and selling the electronics side of the business.
Wishing You All A Prosperous and Happy 2019!

Viacom? Please no!! I briefly held VIAB and a value/dividend play a while back before they cut. Was glad to rid myself of that shit-show. The battle between Sumner Redstone, Sharri his daughter, and the then CEO (forget the name) was like a Hollywood tabloid.
Happy New Year to all my AFB friends and cheers to the longs.

Yea, I know all the ugly stuff that went on but bet someone is eventually going to buy them out.

I got a HomePod for Christmas. I appreciated the thought, but I have a great sound system using Dalquist DQ-10's that I have been using since 1982. Within the limits of sanity, I just have never found anything I liked better. I intended to return it unopened but after all the kids had left I decided to try it out of curiosity. As I suspected, the sound quality was great, but didn't have the full emotional effect of the DQ-10's. Canon in D sounded great on the HomePod, but brought tears to my eyes on the DQ-10's.
Nonetheless, I began to try out the ability to just request a song. HomePod is incredible. It is a different experience. Immediate gratification. Just ask for it and it is there. If this thing learns how to make a sandwich, my wife is on borrowed time. Come to think of it, I may be in trouble as well. We are headed out to buy a second one so we have stereo.
