The bulls have won the battle of the Jan OE. It looks like we are headed for 155. It will be interesting to see if we fill the gap from 158 before earnings. Most OE for March and April appears to show a stock between 140-150.
So the new quarter will be filled with China tariff issues that come to a head in March.
June looks like the month for the major correction. We should have enough data by then to explain why we are going down. Any correction will be driven by economic news more then Apple specific.
The battery replacement issue is interesting in many ways. I do think it impacted overall upgrades. But I also think that consumers were telling Apple they were reaching a limit in how much they were willing to pay to upgrade.
I think Apple will release a smaller version of the XR this year. That $399 price point would be the ideal number. I don’t think it will be enough to drive iPhone sales. The SE did not do it. But it will be enough to maybe keep sales from falling off a cliff. Apple won’t lower the prices of the X when the new versions come out but simply add a less expensive option. ASP may come down but not by much since most upgrade to the latest version anyway..

I'm no longer a TD Ameritrade customer, but this is good news. Hopefully other brokerages can reach agreements to use Apple Pay. Personally, I'm still waiting for Target to accept Apple Pay in stores. Until then, I'll use Apple Pay to purchase Target gift cards in their app and then use that to pay in store. It's an extra step, but I think the security of the transaction is worth it.

I stopped shopping at Target when my identity was stolen after the Target customer data breach.

I had my identity stolen soon after the Target hack as well. What a mess.

Off the lows, but not bouncing as hard as the other large cap tech stocks....
