I think we will hit that 166 target by Friday. The SPY should retrace to the 200MA which is only 3 points down.

This is certainly a concerning story, especially when combined with the Meng Wangzhou story.

Not a fan of tariffs or trade wars, however with respect to China, it needed to be done.
Free trade is not unilateral.

Back in the 80's I was a software manager developing Logic Analyzers at Tektronix. We had a joint venture with Sony, so I got a chance to see development in both cultures. We knew that as soon as we turned out a winner, our asian competition (not Sony, but other Japanese companies) would copy it. Any innovative feature was sure to be quickly imitated. Whatever specs our marketing had determined were needed would be duplicated in a cheaper version. We didn't consider it theft of intellectual property, we just considered it the highest form of compliment.
But we knew that it would shorten the life of our product, so our rule was when the product was halfway out the door, start work the product that would make it obsolete. The successor had to be twice the power at half the price. We could do it because we, and only we, had the basic research that was done on the previous product. They tried to follow, but by the time they got to market, here we came with version 2.
I want to add that this "fast follow" (I hate that euphemism for f**king theft) is in no way limited to asian companies. The two greatest thefts in my memory were when Microsoft stole the MAC UI for Windows and when Google stole the IPhone UI for Android.
I think Apple just has to stay focused and they will leave all these companies in the dust. Seriously, in todays world, would anyone choose Windows over MAC OS if they have a choice?
