Minor note, last link in post above (AAC stock plunge) is wrong; tied to Apple News subscription fee story.

Link doesn't work for me either, on MacOS - Firefox Try: Apple supplier AAC Tech suffers stock plunge after profit warning

That's interesting. I am using Safari. Can some one explain why you wouldn’t use Safari. I know people that use Chrome over Safari but they have never been able to tell me why letting Google know everything about you is a good idea.

I use Firefox which has a private window option you can use that opens the browser in anonymous mode, plus privacy controls that can be set to block content tracking.
For searches use DuckDuckGo instead of Google.
Very happy with both

I ditched Chrome for Safari a year or so ago. Come on in, the water is fine. I'm just not comfortable being subject to google's tracking. It works fine even with gmail, which my work uses. I've also just stopped using the gmail iOS app for Apple's mail. Everybody told me how much better the gmail app was, and it is a little better at least for gmail. But it creeps me out how links open in a mini-browser in the gmail app, from which you could then open it in safari. A mini-Chrome I guess. Creepy.

Firefox worked with some extensions that weren't working well on Safari, like PrintEdit or Google translator, otherwise I try my best to avoid all Google products. Very happy with StartPage as my search engine.
