It's all about subscriptions, leading into the March 25 event. CNBC has Apple's upcoming magazine service will work even when you're offline, code suggests, and Apple's streaming service is 'a game changer,' to add 100 million users in 3 years, Wedbush says. 9TO5Mac has New ‘Apple News Magazine’ details uncovered in iOS and Mac betas: PDF-based, offline reading, more and Analyst pitches an ‘Apple healthcare subscription’ utilizing Apple Watch and AirPods data. OTOH, The Daily Mail has Are wireless earbuds dangerous? Experts warn that Apple’s AirPods could send an electromagnetic field through your brain - as 250 scientists sign petition to regulate trendy tech. Neil Cybart has his usual well-researched and comprehensive view of some recent Apple regulatory fillings in Apple's Declining Capex. Lots to absorb here, including an excellent review of the business model of Apple versus some of its tech brethren. In the seemingly never ending legal battle Apple says witness tampering charges justified. Qualcomm has said no way. 9TO5Mac also describes a very cool Microsoft app that leverages the capabilities of Apple hardware in Latest Seeing AI app lets blind and low-vision users explore photos by touch, adds iPad support.

I think if Apple prices the magazine/newspaper subscription right and the user interfaces look good, it will lead to more iPad sales and upgrade. Likewise, if the video/movie/music subscription prices and contents are attractive, it will lead to more sales and upgrade of AppleTV and Airpod. If all of this becomes reality, Apple won't even need to make any profit on subscription, and they can keep the price minimum to beat the competition.

I already pay $10/mo for Washington Post. Does the article imply that for the same price I get, Wall Street Journal, and others for the same price?

PED has The case for a $300 Apple bundle, with a very reasonable annual subscription model. I like the proposed bundle model, rather than item pricing, but of course it depends on the content. Still unlikely to be a convert.

When they came for Facebook, I said nothing because I wasn’t a Facebook shareholder...

When they came for Facebook, I said nothing because I wasn’t a Facebook shareholder... Apples pile of cash is too hard to ignore. They will come for it.
