Would really like to see the terms here. I assume QCOM won’t be abusing their SEPs anymore, or did Apple just roll over?

Will be interesting to read FOSS Patents take on this, but I believe Qualcomm is definitely the one who caved here.

Will be interesting to read FOSS Patents take on this, but I believe Qualcomm is definitely the one who caved here. This is great news, settling all worldwide lawsuits outstanding between Apple and Qualcomm. It's been reported Apple signed a 6 year deal with an option for 2 more years. Also we've heard recently that Intel possibly wasn't going to able to supply 5G modems in time for the 2020 iPhone. So Apple's hedging their bets here and getting this behind them. I hope they have a favorable contract which can be exited before 6 years if they develop their own 5G modem in the next couple of years.

I find it interesting that Apple stock did not move on this announcement. Given the importance of 5G modems to Apples phones over the coming two years, I would have expected that the removal of the uncertainty by itself would have caused a spike. I wonder if this means that we have shed the majority of the speculative investors we aquired on the move up to 1 trillion market cap. If so, good riddance.

The momo day traders probably sold Apple and bought Qualcomm for a quick scalp and will be back in Apple again tomorrow... crazy bast**ds
