That rumored iPhone with onscreen fingerprint reader could be very impressive.
If Apple can create one in the size of the SE with 5G in two years for under $400 then we could have the rebirth of the iPhone.
There are many that are asking for a smaller form factor.
In other news I switched to calls today. Small position for next week.

Our own 4aapl (at least I assume it is the same one) is quoted in one of today's PED articles.
Thanks for the kind words about the forum, PED.

Thanks for the kind words about the forum, PED. Yep, that was part of what I wrote here a last Friday, mainly because after seeing the video and initially thinking the arches were something slick and efficient (to me they looked inflatable, easy to put up and take down, and switch out colors on a whim, like the Apple store employee's t-shirts). So I was a bit dismayed that Apple spent so much (time and money) on them, mainly because time and money isn't unlimited, so spending it one way means you aren't spending it another. But Apple has tried to move more to the highest end/luxury level from the mid to upper mid level, with products, stores, and the campus, over the past 5-10 years. Part of that is setting a high benchmark, though internally we seemed to already be there 15 years ago (this could have changed, due to the massive influx of employees, and the differences in generations and backgrounds...not everyone could have a long history using a Mac when there were that many people being added). But I think part of that is also due to the massive influx of cash. Woz just talked about how back when he helped develop new HW for Apple, he was super efficient because he didn't know the stuff and they didn't have the deep pockets (talking about using 8 components on a HD controller instead of 50). Like Apple's product line, there are reasons to be "lean and mean", letting you focus more on what matters most.

oh no... there goes my long thesis... if your new trade is as successful as your june 140 puts, we longs are doomed
alright, alright, i'm kidding... welcome to the long side, it's been kinda stormy here lately, but it's alright over long term
p.s. you're still crazy for trading on a weekly basis... sure way to the poorhouse... i suggest vegas... at least it's more fun and you can drink your losses away

I guess that solves that question. Those are places in an Admin folder that Lovey moved some posts to when trying to moderate. I was wondering if they were visible to all. For those that missed a chunk of time here, we didn't have a visiting Admin for a long time, which meant only self-moderating, but also meant that no new members could be approved. As visitors dwindled, the board became quieter and quieter, and some feared it would disappear. Eventually, after months of searching, Lovey was contacted and able to pass control onto someone new. And in order to make sure that this probably wasn't hit again, Since84 asked for months for volunteers to be admins. After enough nagging, finally 4 of us stepped up. Anyone who's been on forums over the years has probably seen one die or left one. There's lots of different reasons. For me, I've left places because the signal to noise got terrible, key contributors left, or a board split in 2 due to politics. And another one just slowly died and hasn't seen action in years. What do you want to see here? In talking to former top posters here, who left, we've found that many left due to politics and name calling. While there is always some overlap with Apple (such as taxes, tariffs, and general foreign relations), it's not that hard to leave the petty name calling out of at least the daily thread. Reread your post before posting it. Is it really what you want to say, and how you want to say it. If it's not, change it. If you really can't resist the general politics, personal attacks and name calling that we try to avoid here, at least send it to the Dungeon instead. In general things have gone mostly ok here, even with adopting and continuing the self-moderation style that has worked over the past 5 years. This is our community. As I said earlier this week, like making a long term investment in AAPL, we get to pick if we want to make a long term investment in this community.

CNBC reporting talks with China have stalled ..... does this really need to come out 1 hr before the market closes for the week?
Sounds like an easy way to manipulate the market ..... who knows? I'm so sick of this nonsense ..... sigh ....
Cheers to the longs ..... which way to the bar?

Speculation on more retaliation by ChinaStrong possibility that next week is going to be ugly if China really follows through on this. Tactically, no matter what one thinks of who is right and wrong, Trump publicly attacking China is a huge error. Positions are hardening and face-saving ways out are being constricted. Both sides will need to portray any outcome as a win, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to see a route to that outcome. The bungling of a hugely important negotiation is likely to financially damage all of us even more, before this is done.

It's only damage if it's permanent damage, or if you have to sell in the short term. That's not to say that I think it's the best course of action, but that all of this worrying about the stock dropping x% in a week is a bit of short term thinking. OTOH headlines said that agreements were made and the tariffs were dropped with Mexico and Canada, so that should help lower your potential added business costs , lstream.

I am not a short term thinker. I have held this stock since 2002. I believe that this situation could spiral into something much worse than a one or two week setback.

Cannot gain access either. What to do? The Admin folder appears to only be for admins/moderators. Wahahahahahaha! Ok, it's really not that diabolical. It was just a dumping ground that Lovey used for some posts, instead of straight up deleting them. We (current people that volunteered to be moderators) will try to do likewise if it comes to that, though really we're going to try our best to not have to do that. Instead of piddling around with individual posts, we'll really attempt to keep self-moderation working, such as inserting an occasional "Can't we all just get along" (said in your best Jack Nicholson voice).
