Very excited to hear about Apple's potential purchase of Intel's modem business.
I'm of the opinion that Apple should be spending a lot more on acquisitions and this one makes sense.
Next up .... TESLA ! ( I know ...very unpopular opinion on this board) Ironically, I could post the same thing on a Tesla board and it would be equally as unpopular!
Cheers to the longs.

I still think Apple is working on its own car. So buying Tesla makes some sense given that it does need the existing manufacturing infrastructure. However, I think if it does buy it Elon would be out and it would be a bailout instead of an investment. One where it will take a few more years before we see an Apple branded car. So yes in the next 10 years we could see such a move.

Well that MS upgrade allowed a few of their clients to get out at 206. The rest will get out in Sept for about $10 more.
The economy is slowing down and the market is hooked on FED lowering rates. So when we get bad news the market likes it. Like the housing data today. Thus we are going up instead of down.
On Friday between Amazon and GDP we should finally have a nice little correction to set us up for Apple earnings. Puts are going up quickly for next week.
This fall it won’t be a pleasant experience as we correct and enter into a long dark winter. Spring may bring some hope but the recession will be in full force.
The uncertainty of the election will make the summer a perfect buying opportunity in Apple.
Looking back MS had a price target of 253 going into the fall. It only lowered it to 236 in Dec when the stock was at 175. Bernstein had it at 160 in Dec.
So one can see how easily WS will change the price targets when facts and reality catch up to their lofty price targets.

who even pays attention to price targets anyway? most all the punditry is rubbish. doing your own DD is the only way to go. Nice start for the day already. TSLA would be a giant waste of money and in < 10 years they are going to be also-rans / bailed out / folded, if not sooner. the real players will soon eat their lunch from both sides (high end and low-price end). AAPL is not generally a fan of buying out stuff en masse, they prefer to build their own. Notable exception would be the massive waste of cash that was "beats".
Watch Edition (the gold one): an interesting take. I don't miss the gold one being gone but it would be cool if they brought back the case from the Edition v2, the white ceramic. That was classier and more understated than the gold.

9TO5Mac has New iPhone set up: Transfer data directly to a new iPhone wirelessly, or using a cable. However... "Due to app thinning making app binaries unique to each device, apps are ‘transferred’ by downloading from the App Store server on the new phone. The new iPhone set up process therefore still requires a network." There are always trade-offs, but presumably the "thinning" provides benefits in storage and performance that make it worthwhile.

That's how Backups work now too (locally to a computer) - iTunes no longer stores the actual app, it just re-downloads it when restoring. Which is fine as long as the app is still available, but also takes longer. Personally I prefer the old way where you had local backups of your .ipa files.
