Who said anything about being morally superior? That’s a tell. Next time, look in the mirror for a clue. You did: "Honestly, how anyone can support this POTUS after all we know about is both a huge mystery and disappointment. For the love of Pete, stop watching Trump TV if that’s to blame for the ignorance." If you can't see this is a "tell" revealing a perception of moral superiority then you're blind. Me, I think the so-called "polarization" of supposedly modern times and the hysteria over Trump nothing new. Populism is nothing new. I disagree with others, but I'm not disappointed in them just because I disagree with them.

Steve Jobs was a Moron. A very smart and successful moron. That's a fact. Check his history. Bunch of one track minded alpha male elitist keyboard warriors here. lol Cant wait till this fridays posts become archived in the trash heap of AFB history. Nonsense. And I don't need to check his history, I know it. As I've hinted, Steve Jobs is a rorschach test for what one thinks about many aspects of human nature, business, or a few other things. He's a polarizing figure, as is Trump and any number of other people we could mention in history or now. I don't care much one way or the other what gets archived or how. I can't even imagine why moving bits from one place to another would excite you.

The “tell” is the kind of person who respects, admires and/or support those who demonstrate racism, corruption, tax cheating, dishonesty, incompetence, hypocrisy and cruelty. The facts are on my side. And yeah, I’m free to be perplexed there are people who really think there’s a legitimate argument to the contrary. That’s all.

The facts are on my side. And yeah, I’m free to be perplexed there are people who really think there’s a legitimate argument to the contrary. You've described how you see yourself as a Progressive. I've already described how I see myself, which whatever the label is a person watching the world that aside from incidental particulars is about the same as ever was because human nature doesn't change over time. The "tell" is when you say "The facts are on my side." If you believed you could demonstrate it you'd be doing it instead of referring to unnamed facts you decline to name. It's an attitude. Neither of us can factually ground attitudes. I've only observed over time that people who think they can are unreasonable, shrill, and prideful. When it comes to the list of sins for which you've convicted many Americans, I'll pick on one where there has long been empirical evidence to the contrary: tax cheating. It seems you're not using it in a sense intended to be factually accurate, but if you did intend to refer to tax cheating in factual terms, then Americans are far more respectably of tax laws the rest of the world by any number of empirical studies done over the years. This is true in Europe, where tax cheating is common, not to mention the rest of the world. I doubt the rest of your list would fare much better in terms of empirical support, but as I've said, such attitudes seldom rest on empirical support so it makes little difference.

Since when is it proper for a sitting US government official to call out a PRIVATE company and tell them how to do business? (ie.... where to manufacture it's products) This coming from a man who couldn't run a lemonade stand and has driven every business venture right into bankruptcy. Trump can go to hell. Cheers to the longs. Left my response in the dungeon-----you know you will look though you will deny it.

Cook is 9 times smarter than Trump, and 4 times smarter than his activist anti-activist detractor investors. Thank God. The best thing about Trump is that he’s suckered out the very worst of our culture- racist, xenophobic, homophobic, mysogynistic- for all the world to get a stomach-churning look at. Hopefully the majority of this great nation will vote in record numbers and put this nightmare chapter into history. Cook is 100x smarter. FIFY. Honestly, how anyone can support this POTUS after all we know about is both a huge mystery and disappointment. For the love of Pete, stop watching Trump TV if that’s to blame for the ignorance. I’m a moderate and have voted Republicans and Democrats all my life. The R’s can go F themselves at this point. They’re flat out traitors to democracy, fearful as they are of Trump threatening their re-election bids. Some of you are still Republicans...read conservatives George Will, Rick Wilson, Max Boots, et al instead of watching Fox TV boobs like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson This is serious: Trump is a bona ride threat to America. Full stop. This is what happens when a TDS level-6 infection sets in.

I was referring to the political discourse that we all hate on the intraday

Was this directed at someone specifically, or just a general observation? not you, chinacat - you've been more than helpful starting threads and keeping things on topic there's a moderator who deleted lstream's post that said something critical of trump, i believe it's only one moderator
We only have 4 active members who have volunteered to step up and help on the occasional moderator tasks here. These are the people that have occasionally had to talk behind the scenes to figure out where to draw the lines. All 4 of us have put in our 2 cents, trying to find a good level, and generally feeling to continue in the path that Lovemyipad set and Since84 suggested, with little moderation, but little to no personal attacks nor OT politics. All with the goal of keeping the board going. Without these volunteers, we have no board here. Not instantly. But over time things dwindle, just as they were going before Since84 got in...as you know since you registered your account in 2014, and didn't get your account approved until more than 4 years later since we had no active moderator. If you don't like what we have done in the past, or are doing now, then step up. Personally, I've been in contact with LovemyiPad to make sure a couple active moderators always have full access so that we're less likely to have issues in the future. While we don't plan to delete messages in the future (though just had to delete some spam), I fully support the moderators and find bad-mouthing any of the few who stepped up, to keep this place running and growing, to be in very poor taste. (FWIW, politics directly related to Apple has always been allowed, but OT politics has been frowned on. While we may let it run at times, that doesn't make it right. History shows that we'll likely have to follow this better in the lead up to major elections, unless we happen to be having such a euphoric top that no one cares to rant. My vote is for that!)
