Just a polite FYI that the thread title is incorrect. It's Thursday! I do appreciate you starting the thread, though!

We are rebounding quicker then I anticipated. Should have bought my calls yesterday. But will continue to stay in cash.
On the way to filling that 204 gap and then I think there is a good chance to fill the 208 soon after.
RSI is now close to 50 and about to turn bullish. MACD is still negative but at this point it does not matter.
SPY has plenty of legs left since MFI was so low three days ago.
I think an opportunity to buy puts will come around August 23. Will look for RSI to hit about 60.
We may stay range bound between 205-210 until then.

more news you can use... notice this part of the text in footnote #2... "In February 2019, the Company entered into a new ASR to purchase up to $12.0 billion of the Company’s common stock. In exchange for up-front payments totaling $12.0 billion, the financial institutions that are party to the arrangement committed to deliver shares to the Company during the ASR’s purchase period, which will end in or before August 2019." This leads me to believe we were in for it in August in terms of taking a stock price hit. This why I get nervous when Apple does ASRs. This is something to remember for future reference. These financial institutions play games with the volatility to the downside, for obvious reasons.

Well after studying my TA charts and options activity , I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a small call position for next week.
Given that we will get over 204 quickly and then 208 by next week, we could see as high as 211 by Wed.

This leads me to believe we were in for it in August in terms of taking a stock price hit. This why I get nervous when Apple does ASRs. This is something to remember for future reference. These financial institutions play games with the volatility to the downside, for obvious reasons. Did you look at the average price shares were purchased? They didn't do that well. It's more like they went in wanting to buy 1500 shares a day, and possibly doubled that on a day below the 10 day average. But the average price is no where near the monthly low. I wouldn't worry about it, and there are ways you can twist it into a good thing. Without knowing the details, we do know that Apple and it's higher ups are limited from buying at certain times, roughly half of the quarter, mainly just before earnings. If they instead make an arms length deal with a purchaser, and let them pick when and how many shares they buy, then they can continue to buy even when some at Apple would have insider knowledge. Given the trade events, I have a hard time seeing any share repurchasing causing any negative movement. OTOH, Apple's position with China, and then the specific path of the stock (big run on medium earnings and outlook just beforehand) is much more likely to have a large role. It's good to watch for this stuff. But I don't think it mattered much, at least this time. Nice to see AAPL making up ground. This week has been wild, but that also helps keep the market in check and helps prevent a frothy top that the market is not yet at, IMO.

Anyone else get an email about the Apple Beta Software program?
I don't really have the time nor desire these days to test out beta software. If things were all taken care of, and I was just twittering away my time on twitter, it might be different. But there are other things I would rather focus on these days.

Well after studying my TA charts and options activity, and considering AAPL has climbed $10 since Monday's close just 72 hours ago, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a small call position for next week. FIFY, sponge. Which was more convincing for you about next week, sponge, your TA charts & options activity or the $10 ramp up in AAPL share price? Just curious, since I know less than nothing about TA charts or options activity.

The first and second iPadOS 13 public betas were very buggy....it has settled down and is probably safe to use without risk to workflows.

Thanks Our iPad doesn't get much use, and is now much too old for the latest iPad OS. I don't really care that much to upgrade our iPhones early, and I'm sure my wife doesn't want to upgrade her MacBook Air early. So we'll wait. I'm glad people are trying it out. That should make it much more stable when we do add it to our stable.
