In terms of number of iPhones sold, the $699 iPhone 11 will be the star this year all around the world.
Apple did a brilliant thing in giving it a top name and not XR2 or 11XR which would've made it seem second class.

Oh Woz. Sorry I didn't have a great question for you when you were visiting SNC. I'm liking your upper education push, and I have a couple great ideas to send your way while brainstorming on my 7 hr ride yesterday after NPR's piece got me thinking. There are ways to improve, even if only hitting a few academic areas at the moment.
On that 3rd pic, croissants aren't the way to go, though tasty. Hit the chocolate dipped strawberries if they have any, which should be perfect right now. And granted my coffee palate was 15 years younger and barely a newbie, I always like'd Apple's stock coffee.
Dang, I need to ping some contacts and see if I can make it to a beer bash or at least a lunchtime volleyball match.
And lightning here. Rocking!

The $4.99 for subscription is a joke. I guess that's why both DIS and NFLX are both down over 2 percent then???
Apple is amping up their game in a lot of ways, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade alone will sell a lot more hardware.
Right out of the gate they're offering Apple TV+ free for a year with an iPhone purchase and I think they also said iPads.
It doesn't matter if it's a loss leader initially, much better than spending billions on a content company.
They're rolling out an aggressive subscription model and it won't go unnoticed by Wall Street.
Exactly and who’s to say they won’t just keep improving it and getting better every year just like Netflix did ? Did the iPhone get better, did iPad get better, watch, iOS ? Of course they did and so will TV +. They’re obviously committed to hiring top notch people to do this work and they have unlimited resources to do so in the future. Much better than going out and spending hundreds of millions on Netflix imo. The great thing about the subscription model is that you can raise prices as the service improves and as demand increases. Everyone who buys a phone or an iPod and I think a watch gets it for free for a year.

Everyone who buys a phone or an iPod and I think a watch gets it for free for a year. @19:20 into the presentation: "Starting today, when you buy an iPhone, iPad, Mac or an Apple TV, you'll get one year of Apple TV+ FOR FREE!" (emphasis Tim) www.apple.com/apple-events/september-2019/

I really was not expecting that I would find anything compelling to buy at today’s conference. My son’s birthday is coming up and I will buy him the new Apple Watch for his birthday. He is planning to buy the new iPad for $300 with the student discount. My daughter will probably want Apple Arcade when she hears about it and I think it’s a bargain for $5. I was disappointed with Apple TV Plus. I was hoping for a live tv option so that I could ditch Direct TV. All the shows looked good to me and I think $5 a month is very reasonable so I will sign up. I am hoping the streaming quality will be good and that all the shows will have Dolby Vision and Atmos. My wife has a iPhone 6 so I already knew that she is ready for a new phone. I was very pleasantly surprised to see the price reduction from last years XR so she will be getting the 11 unless she decides on the Pro. I have a 7 Plus and I had no interest at all in a new phone. When I saw the presentation on the 11 Pro I realized that I have to have it because of the camera. I assumed for what you get the Pro would be $2000 and I was willing to pay that. I was so surprised when I saw that it is $1099. If the camera is as good as what was presented I will not need to carry my heavy Canon SLR and it’s heavy lenses As a very long term shareholder, I was very pleased and I think share price will eventually skyrocket.

The only real compelling product was the XR for $599. They should sell a bunch of those for those who want to upgrade their 6. Margins will suffer and it will show come January. The $4.99 for subscription is a joke. Thats only for 10 shows. That amount will barely pay for the production costs over two years if they can get 10 million subs. They will get those subscribers in about a year, but the quality of the shows will determine quickly how many jump on board after that. Personally I am not impressed with any of their shows. They need to lower the 11 pro to $699. They also need to lower the Apple Watch to $250. Watch for poor guidance come Oct. Trrrrrrooooollllll. To quote you : "Margins will suffer and it will show come January. They need to lower the 11 pro to $699. They also need to lower the Apple Watch to $250." Wouldn't that make margins suffer too?? I'm beginning to doubt your subconscious even believes your own bullshit. I will bite simply because I am feeling generous with my time. WS will punish aapl when margins drop. Please look at exhibit A in 2012. Yes they will fall further if they lowered the price on their star models. That is why TC should be fired. He put us in a very poor position by increasing the prices to a point where they can’t afford to lower prices . He wants to deflect on other products making up for lower iPhones sales.. But that argument only has so much traction. But WS is now in love with services and how high margins are there. So if they actually moved more units and increased market share with less expensive iPhones then their services revenue should increase and eventually make up for lower margins on the iPhone. Sure it will take another 10 years but it will happen. But at the present time all evidence points that as they sell less iPhones their services rate of growth drops as well. The best economy in the world and they only muster 1% growth YOY last Q should put things in perspective about how things will look when things really slow down. Especially when iPHones are 30% more expensive then 2014.

The Camera on the new iPhone is great, but I just spent 2 1/2 weeks in India and one week in Europe. My 8 and my wife’s 8+ took pictures that blew us away and our friends.
We took pictures at the Taj Mahal that turned out better then those of the professional photographer with his Canon EOS T7 with 24 MB. Pictures in Munich, Prague, Salzburg, and Amsterdam were just amazing.
I will not upgrade iPhones this year or next. I can afford to but chose not to. Apple needs to give me more more for less money, and I don’t see the 5G doing that.

Oh, Spongie . . . I found the Series 5 WATCH compelling. I'd been holding off, but the always-on screen and other features may get me to $pend. A good presentation overall today, but does anyone else find the game demos tedious? I have to agree that always ON is very cool. But I want a different form factor. My 4 is good enough for at least 4 more years. Games is the only reasons that App Store revenue is growing, so it is a big deal for them to show them off. I use my son as a gage and he sees nothing that will compete seriously with gaming consoles or PC gaming. The jury is out on weather the new Apple TV with controls can make some traction in that field. But I don’t see the iPhone or iPad doing so.
