Don’t have links for you, but the Movie distribution story is very telling. Apple wants to be the next big movie studio with movies released in the theaters. You all ready know how I feel about that. Iger leaving says it all. They are in direct competition with Disney.
The stock looks like it wants to finish the week at 220. With trade talks not starting for another two weeks, I think we will trade between 207-220 in the next 30 days.

You all (5 of you) know that I expect guidance to be weak.
Here are the three excuses TC will use. 1). Sales were pulled forward into Q4 because the 11 was released early. 2) Currency headwinds the $ is 10% stronger 3). China trade uncertainty

Major battle between the bulls and bears this am. Bulls were content with 220 and are trying hard to get us back there. The bears are emboldened and are fighting back trying to get us stay closer to 219.
When China responds this weekend the bears will feel vindicated.
I did go into some puts yesterday and this morning before the news. I figure the Trump legal issues would drag us down next week.

I think the stock will move with the whole market in the next 30 days, if not better as we are getting closer to the holiday buying/consuming season.
The bears will try to pull it down with their usual tactics.

Once again we find news that is beyond Apple's control moving the stock ....
I guess we are now living in a "Free-Market" climate that dictates where companies are allowed to invest.
Cheers to the longs ....

yeah... AAPL holding up not too bad, down .5%... check out BABA, down 11x that!
it's a pickle...
"Restricting financial investments in Chinese entities would be meant to protect U.S. investors from excessive risk due to lack of regulatory supervision, the source said." (cnbc)
ok... let say you're an investor (or US company) that invests in a Chinese company yesterday... news comes out today, you're down 5%+ in one day!
do you feel "protected" from excessive risk?!
it's all folly... it took 6 weeks to *schedule* continuation of trade talks ("easy to win", huh)... so yes AAPL is still at risk of trade-induced swoons in the next month and maybe beyond, but i don't think it's possible trade the trade deal (pun intended)
stay long and swing-trade apple-specific news (andy hargreaves and such) is my approach

Walter....do you realize how you come across? How would you handle the unfair trade situation between China and the World? And how would you sit down with them and try and get them to understand and do the right thing? Would you happen to have faith in the WTO? Waiting.....

THE SPY is keeping us from total collapse. The 50 MA on the SPY is major support that for the time being can not be broken.
However the damage of keeping aapl under 220 can not be ignored. This weekend will be very telling.

Looking forward to Apple’s October event, where I expect AAPL to be trading at $225 or thereabouts. Trump news won’t count for a lot with Dense stepping in behind him, unless he gets the boot as well.
iPhone 11 buzz is surprisingly strong among friends, most of whom ARE upgrading.
