lovie you are still in florida?. i am freezing here in new york. brrrrrrrrrrrr En route to airport...home this afternoon! Standing outside in the sun now, soaking up my last rays! Gotta love the south Lovey. We were 27 for the overnight low and now with the sun out in full glory, this 56 feels fantastic. The crazy part is that the front that passed through a few days ago pushed the 80's out. Last weekend I had the A/C running.

Nice, but I would not get too excited about it yet. This has been going on since at least 2011, and still no decision. Who knows if it will ever happen. Story Here.

Story Here.It looks like the winner of the contract must set up a tablet factory in Turkey. Seems like it is more trouble then it is worth. Apple doesn't need to be stuck with a useless money losing factory when they complete the order. That was one of the reasons Apple almost went bankrupt.

This "deal" dated back to Aug 2011, wonder why is back again. Btw, Turkey wants to pay only $300 for each iPad + requiring Apple to set up a manufacturing facility in Turkey. Unless Turkey is ok to take iPad mini and no manufacturing facility, unlikely to see any sunlight.

OT: Dividends and getting a home loan. Are qualified dividends included as "income" when determining debt ratios for a home loan ? Trying to refinance and hoping my Apple dividends will help in that area .... Yes. Do it fast, low interest rate* is coming to an end. This low interest rate has caused a big boom in my neighborhood e.g. a house I bought in 2011 for $1.15 mil is now worth $1.40 according to zillow. *Ofc, that is not the only reason. Being in SV, there are wealthy Apple, Google and Facebook folks + HNWIs from greater China bidding crazily.

Rising interest rates will create a verrrry interesting dynamic, Mace, that is if they go up too far
I mean, they're "fine" when the economy's doing well.
But really, other than housing? -0.1% GDP isn't exactly rosy.

Thanks the idiot I'm dealing did not include them in my income ... then went on to ask if I had written documentation regarding the dividend so she could "verify" the fact Apple does indeed pay one I guess she couldn't just look at the Schwab statement I sent her. These loan "officers" are complete and utter morons who should thank god they have a job doing anything ..... I'm starting to think that TSA security officers are brighter ....

movies.netflix.com House of Cards Turkey? Super Bowl ads? Hey, Apple is starring in House of Cards... The first two episodes are terrific, and lots of iMacs on display. I don't recall seeing any iPads, which I think would be more common on the Hill.

For a quick short term profit bet the house on "Tails" in tomorrow night's coin toss.

For a quick short term profit bet the house on "Tails" in tomorrow night's coin toss. Of course, like betting on black in roulette, it's not a pure 50/50 proposition (could land on its side).

Here is the Samsung 2 minute long Superbowl ad - personally, I think it sucks - and I mean it objectively and subjectively - other than that I like the comedic actors in it and hate LeBron James - I have nothing nice to say...and mom said if you have nothing nice to say, then..... www.youtube.com/user/samsungmobileusa?cid=ppc-

I thought this post at Daring Fireball was interesting. I post this here because John Gruber has such a good relationship with Apple, that Phil Schiller gives him personal product demos. This might be Gruber thinking out loud, or it could be him hinting at something that was leaked to him. If Phil Schiller does not give you personal product demos, then think twice about criticizing to Gruber's opinion.

I don't think Gruber's hinting (Dalrymple hasn't yet), but I do think he'll start checking his sources soon.
Anyway, I'm officially on board the iPhone Plus Express.
Also, iPhone is now the only major product line without two new products a year. Time for a change!

Gruber didn't seem convinced in a twitter conversation I had with him a couple of weeks ago when I suggested the exact same thing, so either he has now come around to the idea or he has been tipped off. Probably the former though.

A lot of people always thought the "final frontier" of iPhone was a front face that was pretty much all "monolithic" screen (no visible buttons or speakers or cameras). Maybe that's Apple's next design move.

Probably not the place for this, but, just got THE phone call. My girlfriend's youngest son died in a one vehicle (semi-truck) collision this morning just outside St Louis (black ice - slid off transition road).
Please think of her.
