No - last week was Rosh Hashanah and it started on a Sunday - it was their New Year. Some people took off on Monday and/or Tuesday last week but most people come in. That being said, even if you hardly practice your faith and you happen to be Jewish - you will be taking off on Wednesday - it is the holiest of their days. So my point was that any moves up or down can certainly be exacerbated if many of the players are out in observance. As a matter of fact, they aren't even suppose to take a phone call that day.

I'm sure this would never happen but could you imagine what the stock would do if TC decided to give weekend numbers on WEDNESDAY! Boy, that would be the biggest WHHEEEE of all!

I like my volatility conditions "regular" thank you very much. Recent history says Monday. We won't have to wait for long, I hope!

I have no idea what just happened - was trying to quote Greg and something weird happened when I tried to quote him. I've seen other people have a similar issue - maybe the Board is a bit buggy tonight...not sure. My comment was that Wedsnesday is Yom Kippur so volume will be light and moves may be exacerbated. I was quoting Greg who thought we could see up days Monday/Tuesday and a reversal on Wed. Does this holiday really impact trading volume? I kind of doubt it but honestly don't know.

I am pleased with the volume and the quality of posts here.
I like the fact that previous lurkers have de-lurked. I am sure Red would use appropriate Enterprise language, like de-cloaking or something like that

Some have yet to speak up much if at all. And some have yet to register here. Like FalKirk. Otherwise, I'm liking the new place.

I have an uneasy feeling about tomorrow. Man I wish I would have been around on Friday to sell those short legs.

Yom Kippur (Weds) is a day of atonement and religious Jews probably won't be trading, so the markets may be quiet.

I can see a reversal on Wednesday, after soaring on Monday and Tuesday. The week will finish up. Hmm. I was thinking Tuesday might be the start of a pullback. Are you thinking that if 1st weekend numbers are really good, it will take more than one day for the market to fully digest that and push the price up, before profit-taking turns it back down?

You did more, and better, in a single day (with a smile on your face), than the supposed "professionals" did in a couple weeks (with advance time to prepare). My hat is off to you.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that. ;D Looks like it's fixed now. Wish you had quoted "Dave", so I'd know what it was that you can't do.

I smell advance notice of a buying opportunity. We should thank the Jews for that.

When we hear something, it will most likely occur around 10:00 AM/11:00 AM. Apple has to look like they tallied results first, and not planned the amount sold weeks ago.

Think about it. Apple is on the west coast, and any announcement is most likely going to be around 11:00 AM PST (2:00 PM EST). The market is only going to have 2 hours to absorb and act on the data. Tuesday will be the day of action, followed by a short lived sell off through Friday. The argument being that AAPL at $750 is too frothy. Bull crap. Sellers just need an excuse to cover their weak ass conviction.
