... The ONLY reason I babble so much about TA is because I love it. I love charts, and I love to talk shop informally with others who share my interests. I love my trading and TA buds and our commitment to learning new things and kicking the tires and testing stuff out for ourselves and sharing lessons learned ... . Have always wondered why non-believers like to thrash believers. Just because someone love to do certain things or do it a way very different from you, you don't thrash him as being weird or retarded. Is just different.

DEAR GOD PRECIPITOUS DROP IN IMAC DEMAND About to make the same remark . Without sufficient data, up to interpretation on what the drop in delivery meant. Having said that, resolving all supply-constraints this quarter is positive.

I never thrashed anyone as weird or retarded. I did some work and dug up some research on TA. I get the point and will not bother anymore. I will self moderate from here on in, just like JDS. Maybe not cold turkey, as he is doing. Hopefully that will improve the tone around here, which has become almost entirely intolerant of posters going against the accepted norms. Enjoy the echo chamber.

For a breath of fresh air and a reason not to slit your wrists (kidding, but, boy, it has become almost more negative in here than out there, as JD was saying) please read PED today at Apple 2.0 and the Macalope from yesterday...

Just to defend myself, we were never talking about Travis's Poorman Algo which says buy Friday on close and sell Wednesday on close. I don't dispute that being a good way to trade, and I never have. Doc. Are you the Doc that put an article on Seeking alpha today re Apple? Nope. I hate SA. I used to be pretty active there (never wrote anything), but I don't find it of any use anymore. Anyone can post seemingly anything whether it's factual or not. The editors don't do a good enough job weeding out the BS.

Pretty good pragmatic article whoever wrote it.

I just finished reading "Dark Pools: The rise of machine traders and the rigging of the U.S. stock market" by Patterson. I recommend it to anyone who is still operating (Apple All Time High) with classic models of the market based on human psychology. While most of the early automation had to do with getting in front of trades to harvest a few pennies per trade as a middleman, the more recent developments are really (Apple All Time High) more interesting. Apparently, algorithms are scanning a vast number of online (Apple All Time High ) articles and feeding this into genetic algorithms that blindly decide to buy and sell. The algorithms evolve so even those using them do not know how they decide what to listen to. It may be that the discourse on this board is influencing these algorithms as you read this (Apple All Time High) I have this book but have not yet started -- thanks for your review!

If everyone added: AAPL ALL TIME HIGH to all of their posts and to their signature; are you saying the computers' algorithms would read AAPL ALL TIME HIGH and then AAPL ALL TIME HIGH would become a reality?

Enjoy the echo chamber. Lstream, I concur that you never thrashed (or even implied) anyone as weird or retarded. And I absolutely know and appreciate that your sole intention was to objectively and scientifically -- without malice -- present an alternate point of view for the sole purpose of providing a well-rounded discourse. You did not sling mud in any way, and I never thought you did -- nor do I want anyone else to think you did.

I think I am out of the loop. Where is the new USA factory? HEREI don't see why it couldn't be iMacs being produced in the USA - no one says all iMacs have to be produced in one place, it might just be North American iMac demand that is fulfilled there for instance.

LOL Doing my part. Hey we dropped $270 in 5 months. We can easily reverse that and some in the next 10 months. No reason other then just WS deciding to buy.

I'm not trying to be dramatic and this is certainly (so far) an isolated incident but this is the kind of stuff that makes me worry about future trends and gives me ugly flashbacks to Mac vs. PC I've only ever seen it the other way around.

I don't want to sound derogatory to android owners, but it could be a demographic related decision related to that particular stores product targeting. Or maybe they have had a iPhone app for years, and have only just now launched a android app which they are promoting.

With that: Yes I am looking forward to the day APPLE REACHES AN ALL TIME HIGH again. Hopefully before the summer and my APPLE mini temperature reaches ANOTHER ALL TIME HIGH.. Did I mention the other day while on a plane, to avoid bad weather the pilot took the plane to 41,000 feet? 41,000 IS A POTENTIAL ALL TIME HIGH for my APPLE iPhone and myself. :-). Well had to my bit.

41,000 feet? THAT'S A POTENTIAL ALL TIME HIGH for my APPLE iPhone My ALL TIME HIGH for my APPLE iPhone was only 35,000 feet . . . . . . but I did take some incredible panoramic photos.

I hope these mystery black box algorithms don't use positive forum sentiment as a contrarian indicator...

This is a liquor store, more wine than the other stuff so if I had to guess the most popular demographic it would be middle aged and older wealthier professionals. Perhaps you are right about the Android app being newer though. Still, if this becomes more common it will be a concern.

Looks like one or two thirds of Hulu may be up for sale - thoughts on whether it would be worth apple buying or not?
Would potential benefits outweigh negative impact on apple-Netflix relationship? Do we even care about Netflix?

Looks like the android version was just released in November 2012 Looking at version history in App Store it lists the iPhone app being on version 7.9, and the oldest listing is version 5 in may 2011 - so I would assume the iPhone app was released in 2010 or earlier.

Do we even care about Netflix? IMHO the greatest challenge with the TV is how to get the licensing with the content providers. Given how long TIVO has been around it would not take much to improve upon it although it is very good. Getting the providers to agree to a new way of presenting/giving it to the customer while preserving or creating new ways to get margin is tough.
