WEEKLY SEMI-LOG SCALE Ok, it's only Monday and this needs to be the case at the end of the week. But, we're above the downtrend line for the first time. Getting closer to that weekly SMA100... ;D

The move has to hold, obviously, but MACD is now crossing over on the weekly. If someone knows of a more bullish indicator, please advise.

Was that dip to 467.10 an unsuccessful test?

From all the indicators, I was going to buy at the Open. Lack of balls prevented me from pulling the trigger. And my own charts (using my metrics) show AAPL hitting $480 by Friday.

Just remember that that bar doesn't matter until the week is over. Obviously if we close the week down 30 points, it's not going to be positive. You can get head fakes on the MACDh at the zero line.

I'm a little gunshy too. I was going to buy the pullback after open, then failed to see that break to the upside at 9:36 was my entry point.

If you're planning on going really long with your next position, don't worry about missing out on 10, 20, 30 points. That's nothing if we're really ready to go again.

Bought a few 465/480 April 20 BCS at the open. If we move toward the 485 target quickly, I'll gladly move to the sidelines.... My first toe in the water other than straight common purchases since December. Could be a contrary indicator....be warned friends.

Very small position to dip in too. I feel like we're due for another 485 test either this week or next, so I'll try to grab some of that gain.

Hon Hai Posts Record Profit as Apple Expands Product LineBy Tim Culpan - Mar 25, 2013 8:18 AM CT Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (2317), the world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronics, posted record quarterly profit after it boosted production efficiency and output of Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPhones and iPads. Fourth-quarter net income climbed 5.6 percent to NT$37 billion ($1.2 billion), according to data compiled by Bloomberg based on full-year results published today. That’s ahead of the NT$35.9 billion average of 14 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Hon Hai solved production problems that had crimped output of the iPhone 5 in the prior quarter, helping it raise revenue and margins. The Taipei-listed flagship of Terry Gou’s Foxconn Technology Group may face a drop in sales and profit this quarter as demand for the iPhone wanes amid growing competition from Samsung Electronics Co. “As they scaled up production of the iPhone and solved production bottlenecks, Hon Hai’s profit margins improved and they may have had some room to push Apple for better pricing,” said Vincent Chen, who rates the stock buy at Yuanta Financial Holding Co. in Taipei. “Shipments of iPhone started to drop significantly in the first quarter and there may be no new product to boost sales a lot in the second quarter either.” Consolidated revenue for the quarter climbed 6 percent to NT$1.14 trillion, compared with the NT$1.13 trillion average of 15 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Full-year 2012 net income climbed 16 percent to NT$94.8 billion from NT$81.6 billion, the Taipei-based company said in an exchange statement today. Revenue climbed 13 percent to a record NT$3.9 trillion, compared with Gou’s long-term target for 15 percent annual revenue growth. MORE HERE

more tidbits from above:
Sharp Stake Gou, who founded the company 39 years ago, is looking to new investments and products to boost sales amid slowing demand for computers, games consoles and consumer electronics. A plan for Foxconn to buy a 9.9 percent stake in Sharp Corp., announced a year ago, has yet to be completed as the two can’t agree on issues including price, management control and company strategy, Bloomberg News reported in February. Gou also bought a stake in Sharp’s TV panel factory, called Sakai Display, using his own money, with that transaction already completed. “Terry Gou doesn’t really care about Sharp anymore, he only cares about Sakai,” said Yuanta’s Chen. “If he can’t direct or dictate things at Sharp, then the only thing left is technology and he may not get access to that either.”

Anyone - Please, need some help, weekly options, do they expire on Fridays after the close of the market? Thanks in advance. After the regular market closes weekly options cannot be traded - is that your question? Profit, loss or assigment is locked in after the market closes.

Same day gap filling is a huge positive. Great sentiment and momentum. Now we need some positive news. I agree with some other posters on here that cash dividend/buyback will be part of Apr 23 CC.
Always mind the gap...STMF

Same day gap filling is a huge positive. Agreed. Gaps are almost always going to get filled at some point. Best to do it sooner rather than later.

MACD-h weekly trend is encouraging, but today's price action is less than awesome.
EDIT: Well, this day could be going better. I'm fine with AAPL taking a breather, but getting rejected short of 470 AND ending near the lows of the day (or worse, red) wouldn't be so great. Not sure if this is a case of the "3PM selloff" or whatever. We'll see.

This is a very positive day.
We came off a very positive Friday, the market indexes are all down, and yet AAPL has given nothing back from last weeks gains and with 20 minutes left looks to have a good chance of a green close.

Agreed...it'd sure be nice to be back up around $470, but anything positive on a selloff for the regular market is still a good sign/day.
