Here's their proprietary template if you'd like to use it for your own estimates:

There are limits to feature checkoffs. And "reports" of Samsung hitting new all-time shipping records for what I have to assume is the S4 family of products are all kinds of amusing.
If Samsung, the undisputed king of high-end Android smartphones, is losing steam, either Apple has an opportunity to "get back in the game" with the next generation of iPhones, or the smartphone category just hit a brick wall. I'm not thinking smartphones are anywhere near done just yet.

I think this article from Seeking Alpha is very telling about Samsung's future prospects. seekingalpha.com/currents/post/1122832?source=email_rt_mc_readmoreSamsung's lunch is being eaten alive on the low end by no name Chinese Android knockoffs. This is the market that, to date, Apple has refused to play in (with good reason). If the iWatch is for real (I certainly hope so), Apple will crush Samsung on the high end, as neither Samsung, Google, (nor Microsoft for that matter) have the infrastructure to rollout something anywhere near what Apple already has patented plus the infrastructure/technology to integrate it all.

It's crickets time in the forum, which is when I usually have a few moments to drop by. I may repeat this link later, because I've found Benedict Evans a great source for news in mobile. His site is fine ( ben-evans.com/) but the most compelling read comes from his weekly newsletter, which rounds up the weeks news: ben-evans.com/newsletter. He's been mentioned here before, but it's worth repeating.

I'm not thinking smartphones are anywhere near done just yet. Anytime a product category hits a demand wall, it's time to go to the next level. Somehow, I think Apple has been using the inevitable wall as an inflection point to introduce the next great thing. What better way to leave the copycats behind than when the tech they have been copying runs out of steam, you introduce a new bar raising product they can't produce a worthy copy of for at least another 2 - 3 years. Look at how long it took Google to change gears on Android after Apple introduced the original iPhone. What was it, 4 years before the media started talking parity?
