BMO raises AAPL price target by $30, hikes 2014 EPS estimate by $1.21 and sees growing margins.
The first of many upgrades I expect us to see this week.

Holy crap! are US regulators actually starting to do their job? And has government law actually helped for once?? www.cnbc.com/id/100902782A U.S. energy trading firm is being charged by federal regulators Monday with manipulating markets through "spoofing," an increasingly frequent scheme in which false bids are submitted and then pulled back, the Commodities Futures Trading Commission said. The civil action against Panther Energy Trading of Red Bank, N.J., and owner Michael J. Coscia, is the first time the CFTC has used the anti-spoofing authority, which is contained in Dodd-Frank law. In announcing the proposed settlement of the charges, the CFTC said the company will pay $2.8 million in fines and Coscia will be banned from trading for a year. The company could not be reached for comment because there was no answer at its office. The liquid market manipulation occurred in 18 U.S. contracts, including natural gas, crude, metals, foreign currencies and financial indexes, the agency said. Spoofing, a form of disruptive trading that is becoming more common with the entrance of high speed trading, is a scheme in which false price bids are entered and then pulled back before anyone can execute them. It's done to create "liquidity" at certain prices for big offers, and then make money from smaller offers, CFTC Commissioner Bart Chilton said. "Spoofing sends false signals to markets in order to lure prey and game the system," he said. "We allege Panther used high speed ... technology to fake out other traders and turn a profit," Chilton said. "With ultra-fast cheetah technology, false market signals take places within milliseconds. The good news is that regulators around the world are starting to catch up with the [high speed] traders, and we are shutting them down when they violate the law." The settlement faces court approval. —By CNBC.com.

I do predict it's going to be a boy or a girl, however. Good to see most WS estimates lower than what I believe AAPL reports at for sales and EPS. Watch Misek go on CNBC Wednesday complaining how Apple didn't make his $5.6B iTunes number. He's just ridiculous. I get the game these WS guys are playing, but two of them estimate sales below $34B?

Apple Confirms That Its Dev Center Has Been Breached By Hackers Greg Kumparakposted yesterday ibrahimBalic ibrahimBalic 11 hours ago Hi there, My name is ibrahim Balic, I am a security researcher. You can also search my name from Facebook's Whitehat List. I do private consulting for particular firms. Recently I have started doing research on Apple inc. In total I have found 13 bugs and have reported through bugreport.apple.com. The bugs are all reported one by one and Apple was informed. I gave details to Apple as much as I can and I've also added screenshots. One of those bugs have provided me access to users details etc. I immediately reported this to Apple. I have taken 73 users details (all apple inc workers only) and prove them as an example. 4 hours later from my final report Apple developer portal gas closed down and you know it still is. I have emailed and asked if I am putting them in any difficulty so that I can give a break to my research. I have not gotten any respond to this... I have been waiting since then for them to contact me, and today I'm reading news saying that they have been attacked and hacked. In some of the media news I watch/read that whether legal authorities were involved in its investigation of the hack. I'm not feeling very happy with what I read and a bit irritated, as I did not done this research to harm or damage. I didn't attempt to publish or have not shared this situation with anybody else. My aim was to report bugs and collect the datas for the porpoise of seeing how deep I can go within this scope. I have over 100.000+ users details and Apple is informed about this. I didn't attempt to get the datas first and report then, instead I have reported first. I do not want my name to be in blacklist, please search on this situation. I'm keeping all the evidences, emails and images also I have the records of bugs that I made through Apple bug-report. Watch this video

The only credible explanation for Miseks crazy number is if he combined apples iTunes & accessories segments in his number to PED. Its possible seeing as accessories estimates were not collected by PED for his list.

Misek was contacted by PED and given the chance to correct it. It's still $5.6B. He has a very shaky record as an analyst, first with his coverage on RIM>BRBY and now AAPL.

Can someone more knowledgeable in the space explain to me what Ibrahim's purpose is and why he thinks he didn't hack the site when he did? What am I missing?

Obviously a amateur seeking attention and not smart or well thought out. He exposed private info on his googtube video. Could be sued by developers.

He has been consistently at the top of the heap for the past 3 quarters.

I think he is trying to showcase his skills in order to gain meaningful employment. At this point I'm accepting his explanation, but would want his statements verified.

I like Mark Moskowitz at $7.61. He's low by a penny. ;D

I notice that a goodly number of Pro analysts did not participate fully. I think they are right ignoring unit sales.
PO doesn't Guide unit sales and we shouldn't be focused on them.
In the future I'd like to see PED's shootout focus on the elements of PO's Guidance. If we get those correct EPS accuracy will follow.

You better hope he's wrong, given his $7.10 EPS. Yes. That concerns me. No, he's low by 14¢.

In the past couple quarters EPS year-over-year went down while revenue year-over-year was still growing solidly.
Looking at this quarters estimates it seems like people are expecting revenue to be flat for the first time. That's a concern and can't be excused away by margins.

It can be explained (if not excused) by the product cycle and the impact of a product like the Ipad mini...Frankly, it is the next two quarter's revenues that better not be flat.... ;D

My first response was to lash out, but then I thought, "Gee, WS's expectation ARE really low. That's good, because even if Earnings decline YoY, it is going to be that much easier for Apple to beat consensus. Then providing YoY growth Guidance for FQ4 will have that much more positive impact on investor sentiment." Think about the media flap following an expectations beat (no matter how the media tries to spin it), with strong Guidance for the September quarter. Investors are going to be reminded, OFTEN, that Apple beat consensus and has Guided FQ4 growth.

Frankly, it is the next two quarter's revenues that better not be flat.... ;D Now you're talking my language. Future growth prospects = direction of stock.

Let the naysayers have their moment....such as it is. This doesn't bother me at all. Never more than now, it isn't about the past its about the......next......two....quarters.. guidance...

Tim Cook better have a "great" (ie solid growth) 2014 or he is out of CEO, because his 2013 is looking simply put as weak/bad.

Growth in top and bottom line in IMHO is minimum for him to stay as CEO
