I thought iOS 7 was pretty snazzy right from the promo video. My only concern is if iOS 7's graphics abd new flourishes hurt battery life and add too much overhead.

Has anyone seen the Mac Pro teaser in a cinema yet? I imagine that would be kinda awesome.

Only 20% appreciation since 2007? I should be so luck. I paid $400K (high for this area) for my 100 year old home, then put $200K+ into restoring it. Cash. I'm refinancing it and the appraisal came in at $325,000. I bought it for duration (already picked out a spot in the backyard where I want to be buried), so the valuation doesn't mean that much to me. But before you cry in your milk you should consider how fortunate you are that you haven't lost money. I read the original post as saying minus 20%. Ah the perils of speed reading.

This feels great. For many reasons. I highly suggest everyone load the boat on the next dip. Actually, this run, while deserved, is making me nervous. It wasn't that long ago I touted AAPL popping about $50 from day of October earnings to the second Friday afterwards, and being blasted for the thought. Now, AAPL has moved $49 in three days and everybody is euphoric. It seems like just yesterday, people were calling for TC's head, or demanding that Apple change its business model (to be more like Samsung). The turnaround of member sentiment makes me nervous. I would say this turnaround in sentiment is in large part because Apple is changing their iPhone business model to appeal a much wider consumer base a la Samsung, though not as extreme (which is a good thing).

If apple can borrow as much money as they want at 2% and are paying a divvy at 2.7% - what do you think they will do? It's pure alpha. #duh

By apple taking their work software (pages, keynote, numbers) and making it free and online - they will slowly pull people away from office. #slickmove

I am watching the Charlie Rose interview with Larry Ellison. Ellison actually said that he hates people who "copy" and he hates GOOG --- specifically Larry who gave the command to copy Oracle's Java and then make it their own. HOWEVER he thinks Samsung is a great company, probably the best tech company in the world and suggested they didn't copy anything. This guy (Ellison) - whose face is so frozen that it is only second to Joan Rivers - is on the AAPL board, correct? I had heard in the media that he didn't think AAPL could be successful without SJ - and I do understand their (Ellison and Jobs') 25 year friendship - hence a huge bias - but you would think that Ellison would measure his words more carefully given his seat on the Board. I made these same comments to the iHubby who is watching it with me and his response was, "A guy with a frozen face like that who is worth billions really doesn't give a crap what comes out of his mouth because he loves himself too much regardless." Then he said, "Phoebes, don't forget Samsung was making refrigerators before AAPL came along - How could anyone give them any credit for being innovative?! It's insane. Change the channel."

Larry Ellison is part entertainer who is a master of hyperbole. He thinks Google ripped him off and thinks Samsung is clean? Please. Steve Jobs would ex-friend Larry if he said that in front of him.
Outrageous. But that's Larry...

This is far more than a new hire from Nike. If you have ever seen this guy present, he is a master.....they could not have gotten a better "face" for te product to give it credibility in the fitness world. This is very very big news.

Having met you both I can attest both pictures are legit, although you both cheated by showing poses in the younger years .

Looks like Larry is currently not on the Board, true...but he was on the Board at one time though. He's still annoying to have phrased things the way he did but he's entitled to his opinion. By the way - I don't know if anyone else here watched it but he also said that Isaacson didn't get SJ right and it was probably because he didn't like Jobs. After the whole interview I was thinking to myself - Geez - you don't know WTF to believe anymore. Everyone spins things the way they want and time re-writes every line.

The best Apple story will be written in 2020, looking back at SJ with less idolatry and at what Apple became after his influence waned. A first look back in about 2016 ...
