what is the cost to keep this thing ad free? $7 allows 50K page hits, which ProBoards estimates is about a month... We'll see what our actual data says after a month. Does page hits = views? We are past 50,000 views in the Intraday's alone since we started.

Should I post intraday TA observations here or in Chart Stuff thread? Small picture stuff changes on a dime -- at every moment there are two paths, a bear and a bull scenario -- and I don't want to stress people out unnecessarily. Big picture remains: to the moon!! For example... Right now, we may have a potential inverted H&S pattern (the name for the pattern is shorthand for the underlying supply and demand dynamics at hand). This BULLISH pattern would momentarily retrace to about 671.26 (668.69 max), then target 680-ish.

I have used adblock for a year or so and it works pretty well. So well in fact, I thought this site was ad-free until I saw the post today. safariadblock.com

Personally - in particular today given the roller coaster week we have had - I think the stress levels are high and any of your observations are VERY insightful and helpful. To the extent you can post here I would love it - but that's just me.

Phoebes, watch to see if 671.26 holds here... If it gets over 673.83 again, chances are high for a run toward 680...

Lovey:
Post in BOTH places. One of the most interesting things I learned years ago at AFB was: SOME FOLKS NEVER read the intraday thread! By posting in both places, it helps the trader and the investor.

I sold to close the iWife's April calls in the first 30 minutes today. Yesterday helped them a lot and I did not intend to watch them go back down today.

Given TC has his own way of running the company - does anyone even think the company will say anything about their global roll-out numbers?...or is that just TOO transparent for AAPL? I don't recall they ever did it before but we are in a brave new world so I don't think anything is off the table....don't know.

Can we PLEASE create a separate thread for this tiresome Maps discussion. IMO it's pretty simple - either it has the features you like or it doesn't, then download a map app that works for you! I personally like maps as is, b/c it has features I missed on Google Maps. +1000

Since that corresponds to the highest Put OI for this week, does this mean more downtrend in coming days? Travis Miller of AAPL Pain had referred to this theory of where AAPL ending up pointing to future movement.

Well the longterm trend is still up, bit midterm, since we are below the 20 SMA, we might still get down to the lower BB on the daily (around 650). So the short answer is may be! ;D

Did a few day trades for a profit of about 2K.
Bought short-term weeklies and Oct/Nov options worth $28000 in the final moments. Hope to make a few bucks from those next week.
Have a great weekend. Cheers!!

Two interesting tweets at the end of the day on AAPL from Travis:
"Got no buyers in $AAPL as of now, all sellers. Puts were holding up stock, when they went away, so did $AAPL"
"If those $670 were still open, have ton of retail that just sold short $AAPL and will have massive margin call. They closed $AAPL"

So much for the inverted H&S possibility -- wrong, wrong, wrong!
It's looking like yesterday was, indeed, just an oversold bounce or relief rally ahead of another leg down.

Are we now officially in a downtrend?
Id hate to hold and have apple drop 100 points like it did in april. Is anyone thinking we already had our high for the year?

We've spoken about this on and off -- Travis tweeted this earlier today: "Apple share repurchase program starts on saturday as it is their 1st day of FY'13 $AAPL Only details released: "will buy off open market" So monday apple will start buying back shares? Also is it enough that it will even affect anything? Im super nervous about the way apple has been trading lately, It was a mistake to go all in at 685. At this point I would be happy just to see 685 again.

I'll leave the downtrend question to Lovey and the other TA folks.
While AAPL can certainly go done 100 points from the 700+ high (or even from here), I personally think we will see 700+ again before the end of the year. If your horizon is long-term, AAPL is not likely to disappoint.
EDIT: And, Nate, no need to be nervous unless you are using money you need for living expenses. Just take a walk, see a movie, watch a football game, read The Grapes of Wrath. Just don't keep watching your portfolio. Take a peek again in January and you'll be pleasantly surprised and ulcer free. Just my two cents.

You are totally screwed if you bought at $685. Apple will fall below $200 next week, likely by Wednesday. Sorry to deliver that news, but you asked. And yes, that is a downtrend.
