ROFLMAO!!! Well, I have had my "whole friggin month going nowhere?!" moments, but then I remember 666. And similar thoughts then. And the aftermath. And... Just be glad we're not in free fall.

I remember your not-so-rosy prediction from a week or so back. Happy that didn't happen. ;D

Lets assume for a minute the CM deal is a sure thing and its just a matter of when to announce and rollout. 1) Would you expect the rollout to happen after Christmas, but before Jan earnings in order to ensure good supply for Christmas and then thru Chinese new year? 2) Will there be an announcement before availability or will they just announce when availability starts?

What value would there be in such speculation? No one here has any useful inside or other knowledge that qualifies us to have a valid opinion on this. This CM deal is pretty much opaque to observers like us.

Patent game is hard to understand. We start out with a verdict awarding 1B. Then its reduced to 400m. Then we start again asking for 380m? Apple may be paying SS by the time the next round starts!

I remember your not-so-rosy prediction from a week or so back. Happy that didn't happen. ;D Shhhhh...don't jinx it!!! P.S. All market top-callers (including myself) should be duly ignored. Until there's a lower high, there's no confirmed top. Seems every quarter this year, I've thought the market was making an intermediate-term top; every time, I've been wrong.

This market is incredibly resilient.
Luckily it's helped AAPL lately.

WAG I feel apple could be poised for an end of year run in short order - we have been in a tight little consolidation range. Bollinger bands are looking more bullish. Still good MA divergence. May be signaling a move although volume hasn't picked up yet. Last week we were almost there - holiday hype of iPhones and iPad - people getting on the train early before CM deal/ new spring product - still down for the year. Unexplainable for this successful of a company even with perceived "lack of innovation" and slowing EPS growth

Unexplainable for this successful of a company even with perceived "lack of innovation" and slowing EPS growth Not "slowing EPS growth" -- negative EPS growth. In other words, EPS decline. I fear that we will be stuck in the side-to-down doldrums until Apple can show the market that EPS will indeed start growing and stay growing again.

That's not the question in FY '14. It's extent.

As mentioned yesterday, iPhone 5S is basically almost in supply/demand balance. However the China Mobile 4G network is still being built, and is still labelled "experimental", so a launch is probably more likely to happen after its officially launched, which will be who knows when.

There's supply/demand equilibrium (ships within 24 hours) then there's actual balance (target channel inventory range).
Not a bad thing for Apple to ramp up as much as it can. I assume it's also getting much better at this as they go, so approaching supply/demand balance soon is fine by me.

There's a huge amount of iPhone ads on my local TV stations now for iPhones, with both the 5C and gold 5S ads playing seemingly every hour during prime time.
I think that's a good sign that supply is good.

www.reuters.com/article/2013/11/17/us-primesense-apple-idUSBRE9AG03G20131117?feedType=RSS&irpc=932"Apple has bought PrimeSense, an Israeli maker of chips that enable three-dimensional (3D) machine vision, for $345 million, the Calcalist financial newspaper reported on Sunday without citing sources.
PrimeSense has raised $85 million from Israeli and U.S. venture capital funds such as Canaan Partners Global, Gemini Israel and Genesis Partners, Calcalist said.
"We are focused on building a prosperous company while bringing 3D sensing and natural interaction to the mass market in a variety of markets such as interactive living room and mobile devices," a spokeswoman for PrimeSense said. "We do not comment on what any of our partners, customers or potential customers are doing and we do not relate to rumors or recycled rumors.""

This CM deal is pretty much opaque to observers like us. Well pardon me, I thought this was a discussion board. I just find it odd that anyone would put any stock in an answer to these questions. It is like have a fantasy discussion. Why would anyone ask a question to a group of people who have no hope of knowing anything relevant on the subject? If you want to have the discussion, then go for it. I just don't see the purpose. Both here and on Braeburn I sometimes see people making pronouncements about when China Mobile is going to happen. As if they have information that only Apple can have. It is one of the odder parts of the experience of being on these boards. Odd that anyone would claim to have any basis to provide valid insight, and even odder that anyone listening would find anything useful in these prognostications. Especially on China Mobile, where this futility has been going on for years.

I have read two stories about Apple's iBeacon this morning, and how it pinpoints the location of shoppers in a store. It sounds intriguing; any ideas about how Apple can monetize this? Would it be through selling ads to stores utilizing the service? Does it have the potential to become a big revenue stream?

Would it be through selling ads to stores utilizing the service? Does it have the potential to become a big revenue stream? I don't think anyone knows. If it were me, sell the iBeacons, sell the apps to use iBeacons. And a very, very small % of any sales made from an iPhone, if the software for iBeacons is used by other phones. A slightly larger % of any sales. No charges for ads or location services to the stores. Make it as painless as possible for retail and build out a strong foothold.

It's just all what, Blodget articles?
Oh yeah, proof Apple is totally doomed. Media coverage isn't all that positive on Apple any time of any year. You being serious esp. with those BusinessInsider links?
