I think I will, if I end up caving and getting the iPhone 5, $250 extra be damned.
A little extra first-gen product protection and two incidents of drop protection with a fairly modest $49 incident charge. In addition to the peace of mind, I figure there's also a bit of residual value as an eBay or whatever selling point.
We'll see though. $250 for early upgrade + $99 adds up. And like MB, I _do_ have a backup 4, just that the Home button's kind of nonfunctional. Why can't iPhone have multitouch shortcuts like iPad does, dammit?!

We've ordered two: wife's 3GS is begging for an upgrade and I am moving up from the 4. Speaking of upgrades, thanks to everyone who helped put this site together.

Thanks. Better than nothing though that lower right icon is very intrusive.
I just wish Apple coulda implemented even a simplified subset of iPad touch commands to iPhone.

Will order once unlocked phones are available. Anybody have any idea of the prices for unlocked iPhones? Been looking around the AppleStore (online) but couldn't find it.

So, uh . . . why does my iP5 Order (white 32) still say "Preparing for Shipment, Delivers 9/21 via Standard Shipping." Shouldn't it have shipped by now? Is it in a warehouse across town and'll ship tomorrow??
Oh, and way to go, Paul, or AT&T!

Go to ups and click in reference search box and enter your number (telephone). You'll find your baby there.

Ordered my 64GB Black on Rogers. Got on the waiting list with #4154.
I'm that far back with the top end model? The sales are going to be crazy!!

So if I was #1806 on Sep 14 10am, they've booked another 2348 in the last 5 days. 470/day. Extrapolating with stats from 9to5mac's survey of 34000 users says Rogers is booking roughly 2600 iPhone 5s a day.

Incidentally, that puts the total Rogers pre-orders at roughly 23,000.

Wow, what a logistics challenge: UPS has to deliver hundreds of thousands of iPhones tomorrow - in addition to their regular loads. Mine's taken two days to get from Anchorage to Louisville, KY. Now they have to get it to California, onto a truck here and delivered by end of day tomorrow. I picture a lot of frantic sorting going on right now. Might be a good little docu-drama for someone to make...

My 5 got to Louisville at 10:35 am this morning. Now it just has to go back to Anchorage, ship from there to Fairbanks, get put in the delivery truck and delivered, all by noon EST tomorrow (4 pm AST).

Per MacRumors,
To which I ask: Hey 4S owners, do you find it easier or harder to detect your silenced phone is "ringing" when the iPhone is in your pocket and you're walking here and there? And also - could be that the "old" type of silent motor works better with metal than it does glass.

That hasn't been the case with the newer "less annoying" model.
