Don't jump to conclusions yet. I'll buy commons if the market reacts positively tomorrow. You're exhausting.. And most often right. Mute button is to the left.

I can't recall a better setup for a Santa rally in AAPL: A strong December quarter with guidance that includes CM. Tim's email to employees voicing new products in 2014 (and beyond) is icing on the cake.

I suspect we open at 562 or so.....fidget around for a few hours....analysts have to re crunch numbers with 10 million more phones next quarter, 40 million for the year and a few million more iPads.
And that has nothing to do with Tim's letter promising much good stuff next year.
Can you feel the energy in the Apple universe? They have been waiting for all this to come together. Now it will.
Sweet

Can you BELIEVE that call against the Seahawks Red? Probably the WORST I've seen in a long time.

Perfect caption, Mav.
With AMZN and GOOG at ATH, we might even get some rotation out of those two overinflated balloons.

Long time reader / lurker; rarely a contributing member. Mostly because I'm long since 2008 and don't do much trading other than adding to my AAPL position. AKA not much TOO contribute...
In any event, just wanted to chime in and say what a wonderful Christmas it shall be!
So happy to see the Apple / CM deal finally announced.
To the others on this board perhaps not celebrating Christmas, Happy Holidays!
Cheers to the Longs!

From a swing trade perspective, things may be looking up for me.
Whew.
Also, because it's worth a repost:
I have to think he's got the stronger case right now.

All those who are out or underweight in AAPL: We're going to accept your assist with pushing AAPL higher tomorrow! Seriously, this news was NOT priced in, particularly after the disappointment on the 18th. Anyone who thinks otherwise will have his/her delusions confirmed within a matter of hours.
Tim's email to employees exuded CONFIDENCE. The media coverage should be the most positive in months.

Apple sold 150M iPhones in FY 2013. 15M incremental sales from China Mobile boosts iPhone 10% YOY without ANY growth from the rest of the world. (To say nothing of TD-LTE iPad sales, which should be a nice boost as well.)
Catalyst? Oh, heck yes. Maybe not Monday, but not long after that, when people start figuring it out.
We'll see if any analyst can say with a straight face that China Mobile incremental adds could be lower than expected because many on-contract buyers will simply be those who bought new on the gray market and toughed it out on EDGE last year.

I think both Apple and China Mobile pump the living Heck out of this new partnership. Look for advertising, subsidies, rollout promos, branding. Both companies can smell the opportunity here. China mobile wants that 4g network to be world class. They want LTE revenues..Apple wants the sales, the ecosystem build, the millions of new loyal customers.
This is the tip of what will be a very big multi-year, multi-faceted iceberg....

Beyonce is pushing back on Target and Amazon, both attempting to punish her iTunes exclusivity launch. She was handing out Walmart gift cards inside Target. Hilarious. Ooh, great pop culture example of the tort of interference with prospective advantage for my Biz Law courses, thanks! Damn Millennials don't even know what Seinfeld was, vitiating several of my funny examples. So, I was hiking with the dog this afternoon. Six pages on the weekend thread and really green NASDAQ futures. Did I miss something?

Sugar rush narrative LOL.
I'll take a temporary 10-20% incremental YOY boost in iPhone sales thanks entirely to China Mobile subscribers, thank you very much.
And let's not forget the possibilities for any iPhone 6 + 6C/Touch ID launch next year...

Speaking of articles, the WSJ SHOULD have a huge article too. After all, wasn't it their reporter who had the scoop initially and then was hunted down when nothing materialized on the 18th. They stuck to their guns that their source was good and the story was correct. So now it's the perfect opportunity to toot their own horn. I have no doubt they will.
Congrats to longs!

Yup, Lorraine Luk and Daisuke Wakabayashi of WSJ gained some substantial news cred today. They had the scoop, they deserve credit. Amusingly, both favorited my tweet about that. ;D

Interesting.....some good folks calling for a temporary pop tomorrow followed by sell off. Others see a 2% jump with basing at 570 or so...then?
.well, whether or not the deal is priced in tomorrow...the longer term effects are much mor compelling. I think Tim's letter to staff today is just as exciting....
Tomorrow should be fascinating....when does Frankfurt open?

The answer to the "is the CHL deal priced in?" question can't be answered in a day or week IMHO. Myopic, though some will think in these terms. For those with very-short-dated trades, can't blame 'em of course.
My WAG is heck no FWIW

Sell AAPL at this P/E, FQ1 earnings, FQ2 Guidance, CM and Tim's exciting 2014? Stay long and strong IMO.
