While no forums can fully protect against a Gandalf who fell in with the wrong crowd, at least Viewers Like Youâ„¢ can keep the ads away.
Three cheers for our sponsors!

Greetings all. I'm a long time lurker. Tried to register 100s of Aapl dollars ago to congratulate lovemyipod as the "new" moderator, but CAPCHAKA, or whatever, beat me up. I moved, like so many others to this wonderful site during the "great migration". I do enjoy seeing so many familiar names. We should see more lurkers as registration is now required it seems. A shout out to Nate, glad you're back. You've got big somethings to margin again, I've not ventured there. I bought into aapl during the late 90's and traded it while it fought back to over $100 per share years later. Yup, should have bought and held, as Sponge suggests. The opinions here have kept me calm and buying on the dip (as opposed to being filled with FUD). The common shares have grown significantly. Faith in this great company. Thanks to a trimming of shares at $699 the other week, to have some powder later, I was able to use some of the profit to surprise the iwife with an ipad. Of interest, 50% of the folks I work with own an Apple Iphone or Ipad. Thank you all for your assistance and ideas.

i think having to log in just to see the board is a bad idea. New users typically like to lurk to see the board and then decide if they want to join or not. If your not allowed to see the board before you join I think less people would join. I would like to get a sense of how many "hits" are generated by registered members in 24 hours versus registered members + guests. (Read: sometimes, there's a method to my madness!!)

Now, what about timeframes and patterns? Y'know, like how cup-and-handle patterns are supposedly (IIRC) much more instructive on longer timeframes.
Also, what about that late Mar - Sep S&P cup and handle (which Redler helpfully identified in some earlier report)? Is this a kind of rest stop or will the pattern at some point be in "danger"?

By the way - tomorrow at 12:30 Uncle Ben is a speaker in Indiana. People will be waiting to hear if he has anything further to say

iOS and OSX App stores are crippled right now by a user agreement bug. Not the way I wanted to start the week.

My last report from the road ( and since we are talking infrastructure investment-roads get a lot of attention). In Istanbul today, listening to speeches on the future of ship/rail/truck traffic throughout southeast Europe. A few billion Euros here ( or Lev, Dinar, Florin) and miracles can be worked. In reality, great problems remain, but are also being overcome. 2008-10 hit very hard here and small business took the brunt. Infrastructure at all levels has a long way to go to make transport of goods efficient. Bulgaria has only three 100 km stretches of what we think of as freeway, the rest being two lane roads with huge trucks sometimes competing with donkey carts for room. A favorite story for the Romanians to tell about the Bulgarians has to do with a loan for new rail cars made by the EU in 2009 so that Bulgarian rail traffic could reach mandated minimum EU standards, a year later the EU inspectors came out to Sofia to tour the rail system. Where were all the new rail cars? No one is quite sure, but gone. Best rumor......sold and rolled to Ukraine by somebody. No paper trail. The Romanians like to point out that they kept their allotted rail cars. So invest with us! Capital follows opportunity and there is opportunity in this region. Turkey grew over 12% each of the last two years ( but will slow this year) and is anxious to move its goods to Western Europe. How to lure capital, show the opportunity for growth, guarantee the integrity of any investment program....these questions remain in a nascent stage of review. Solutions will be found. But it will take time and a new way of thinking to get there. That process has started by private investors even being on tours like this. Hope is eternal. RSE.
